yeah its hard to go wrong with 514s, but try a few others on too. levis makes pleny of non-offensive washes

If he doesn't like "skinny" jeans he's certainly not going to like 511s.

511s are the roomiest fit I wear nowadays. Worn true to size, unless you have particularly muscular or fat thighs, there is no way I would call these "skinny"; they are not close-fitting below the knee, as they do not taper. They are a mildly slim fit, at best. I wear workboots under them with no problem.

Birthday coming up. 19cms or something from SE like BSPs? Fit is my first priority.

There are numerous places....most department stores carry a decent selection of Levis--especially the larger stores.

Another Levi's style to consider is the 512. Not as slim as the 511, and is very similar to the 514 but it has a tapered leg. Personally, I like the feel of the denim used in the 512 better.

The 1980's (and KMW in general) are not nearly as bad as you think. There's a unique 'elasticity' to the denim I haven't experienced with other jeans (must be the high denim quality). On a scale of 1 thru 10 (10 being APC and Jean Shop with sometimes +2" waist stretch, 1 being Momotaro or Skull), I'd definitely put these at a five or less.

If I'm between a 28/29 waist and I want an extremely fitted jean, would it be wise to get a kmw rocker size 28?
Or should I go with 27

What is your thigh measurement? I went UP one size and people here seem to think I have a decent fit. Get what fits your thigh and wear a belt if you have to.

aeglus, your fit is good on your rockers but not what i would call extremely fitted. maybe TTS, december?

I think that's right since I have pretty big thighs for my size. No belt and these things will fall off in a month I'd bet.

How do you measure your thighs? Near the crotch standing up? then my measurement would be 20 what's TTS?
