Basically, anything that doens't sag at the butt and thighs is probably good right?

Is there a good raw jean faq for beginners? I searched on google and didn't find a good one.
It's difficult to give a guide to sizing because everyone has their own level of comfort and their own idea of fit. Across the board I think it's best for the jeans to initially fit snug but buttonable. Of course, there are some people who want as tight of a fit as possible and are willing to go a few days without being able to button up all the way. It also depends on the cut of the jeans; sizing down is easier to do when the cut is boxier in the top block and looser through the legs than it is to do with skinny jeans.

The rule of thumb that Doctor bought into of "denim will stretch depending on tightness/looseness" is definitely another guide that is hard to explain over the internet to someone unfamiliar with their denim. Typically, the rule is true but you have to do some serious research into your brands and understand that not all denim stretches out equally, some stretch more and others hardly at all. But I think generally you'd save yourself some headache if you judge the measurements before you buy and then expect the waist to stretch an inch or two at the most. Play on the safe side and you'll come out fine.

That's really not going to happen. If the jeans feel like they're glued on to your thighs or you can barely bend your knees, they're going to be like that for the long haul. Sure, the waist will stretch so that you can wear your jeans lower on your hips and give your legs a bit of breathing room but don't expect the kind stretch you get at the waist to happen further down below. Ain't gonna happen.

Honestly, I don't think I've ever seen or heard of the outseam blowing up. It's meant to have some pull and stretch to it.

Doctor. that fit looks solid. but honestly, i would size up 1 more, stop wearing them and send them back to BiG for a return.

i definitely would say that thighs can stretch out... My SJDJs have stretched out from being skin tight in the beginning to being nice and comfortable. Dont look for much, but you can get a little. I would go up a size, Doctor

I haven't really worn them, but I took the tags off late last night after some positive responses on the forum about the possibility of stretching

Hmm... What to do. Looks like I may just have to give it my best effort and wear whatever the result is. I know it'll at least stretch in the waist & top box area, which is good. Even the tiny littlest bit in the thighs would be good.

you can definitely wear them as they are. i don't know momotaro at all but it can't be that bad. they'll stretch out some with wear, it won't be a ton, but you don't need a ton in the thigh anyways if you like how it looks tight... i dont mind my SJDJs like that

im a true 31 and interested on a APC NS or Nudie Slim Jim.
I'm thinking about a 29 APC and a 30 Nudie. My main doubt is the size of the Nudie. Do I get a 30 or 31? They stretch out? I dont want a super tight slim fit shape in my body.

Depends on the model you buy.

the models are New Standard from APC and Slim Jim from Nudie, both raw. Nudie is indigo wash

You can definitely size one down in the SJ (ie, get a 30), especially if you want a slimmer fit and are accounting for stretch. The general rule of thumb with nudie is to size down one in just about every model except the Thin Finn which you should typically stick to your usual size.

I have a pair of 5EP x SF and I wish I sized an extra size down as the overall fit is good but they’re a little too baggy in the bum area.

As such I don’t wear them nearly as much as I would like to because I don’t think they look good.

Is there any way to have the space in this area reduced ie. tailor to take them in? Can this be done, would it be recommended ?

Thanks

I personally would size down 2 in AJ's, they can look really great sized down, like the pictures on SelfEdge

At least if you want it to look like that after stretch. I'm a true 31 and bought a 30, I regret not getting a size smaller. Although I heard someone say their AJDS's shrunk up and never stretched out quite as much, so we'll see what happens after a wash.

That looks a bit tight for most people who buy a regular slim cut. There's a reason why it's not called the Thin Finn.

anyone know how EDWIN's stretch?

more or less than 5EP x SF??
