I have a jean...(The Ultimate Jean Thread For Beginners) - ask questions here. - Page 383

^My current jean fit is obviously very shitty. It's generally feminine-looking, makes my hips look huge, and doesn't elongate the legs as well as it could. Obviously going to go for something less tapered for my next pair. I'm also wondering about what kind of rise to go with. For reference, the rise on the NC's is 9.5", and I'm considering anything from 10" to 11.5" for my next pair. I'm thinking about Imperial Dukes, the Left Field jawns being carried by Context, and SDA 103's. Also open to other recommendations. Fit definitely takes precedence over denim quality and cool details, although the latter two are always nice. What jawns should I get next?

Those are NCs, right? Maybe try Imperial Shearers? They have a higher rise, but with a decent taper.

Quick one:

I'm looking at 3 jeans:

PRPS Baracuda $350
Rag & Bone RB11 $245
Iron Heart 634S $320

I want a slim-ish straight leg with a higher rise than what I have now, which is KMW 1980's and Spurr Pipe Leg's.

Any advice or...?

Might wanna consider routes. But I know you want something more high end. I think you should go with some KMW 1980s. They have a ~10" rise( I wouldn't go really any higher) and are a great fit and the details are not easily topped.

Does anyone know the measurements for size 30 RRL slimfit and size 30 RB15's? This would be much appreciated as it affects my future jean purchase.
RRLs are severely vanity size btw. Rag and Bones are pretty true to size.

Ok here's the deal, I was at Barney's yesterday and I tried on a pair of RRL slimfit in size 30 and RB15 in size 30 and on the two jeans...

RB15: Very tight, heard the waistband doesn't stretch so if its TTS does that mean I should be in jeans around 31' aka should I be scared to buy these...

http://www.selfedge.com/shop/index.p...roducts_id=439

in size 30 which measures to 31.5'?

For another reference point on the RRL slimfits they were only about .5' away from being as tight as the R&B.

I need to make sure I'm getting the right size if I were to purchase the 3Sixteen jeans.

What's really weird is Mauro says his pair of size 31 R&B measures 16.5. Now if 30 was so damn tight how can size 31 be so much larger? This concern stems from the fact that $60 RB15's are an insane deal and if they will fit me will be taken into consideration.

Someone help.

Yeah, I dig Imperial as a brand, but wouldn't something less tapered (like Dukes) make my hips look narrower?

Hmm. Those Left Field jawns you posted seem to have a similar fit to 1980's, no? I dig those bandana pockets (and the price!). FWIW, the most flattering pants I've ever worn were RRL officer chinos, which have an 11" rise. Maybe that's just because they're not jeans, though...

As I understand it, and I could be mistaken, it tapers from the knee, not from the ass, so the thigh is still roomy. I think you look "hippy" because of the tight thighs of the NC, not the taper to the ankle. Not trying to talk you into it or anything, just a suggestion.

Dukes are nice too. I personally am not a big fan of Imperial, the back pockets put me off, but that's a feature that attracts a lot of people too.

^^^yah. i think you're wearing them too high, also. you may want something with a higher rise if you're going for something that sits up as high as you're wearing those.

That's what I was about to say. I f he wore them at least an inch lower they wouldn't look as fitted.

not a big fan of Imperial either [only cuz i can get a better quality denim with similar fit]. Imperials have square upper block__ cut is straighter at the hips, hence no hip flare :: up side, gives that slimming effect :: down side, not much give on hip area, therefore movement is a bit restrictive, if you mis-size. i prefer Dukes over Shearer on fit, tho.

btw, Samurai 710s are the most comfortable slimmish/stylish mid-rise cut i got. if the regular 19oz denim is too heavy for you, you can check out the 15oz 710XX [2nd collab].

Thoughts on the fit of the KMW 1980s? They're up in the B/S forum because I would ideally like to get a size smaller. However, I just got the urge to keep them for some reason and wanted to know what y'all thought.

size smaller for sure. They're a little baggy now and they'll stretch.
