I have a jean...(The Ultimate Jean Thread For Beginners) - ask questions here. - Page 39

I've been working on my RRDS for about 3-4 months. I love the fit of them, but I just want to get another pair of jeans. I would like something that fits like RRDS, and I really like the way APC fades. If I were to buy the APC Hipster would that be a stupid idea? Also does the Rescue taper at the bottom or is it straight from the knee? Any other suggestions are welcome. Thanks

Can't compare RR to Rescue in Fit, but the Rescue does not taper

Hipster is reasonably similar to RRDS in terms of rise, and leg opening, but it's not bootcut, it's more of a relaxed straight leg. It's also somewhat tighter in the top block than the RRDS.

What do you guys during the break in period for jeans? I just bought a bunch of new jeans and they are just killing me right now. Any way to speed the waist stretch or am I just going to have to bare the pain?

Alright thanks for the response. I actually saw a picture of you wearing them and decided I liked the fit. How did you size them?

Also how do 5EP Low Down Boots and compare to RRDS?

The ones I'm wearing are true to size. They came in at about 33" for 33W jeans, but stretched a couple inches. Due to the low rise, you don't want to size down though.

The bootcut is more subtle but the rise is significantly higher.

If they are causing you intense pain, that's probably because you bought them a size too small. When they do stretch out there will probably be some distortion.

I don't know of a way to speed up the stretching process but you could make the best of it and turn it into some kind of spiritual self-mortification trip - illumination through the tightness of pants.

Just size up one next time.

It's not intense pain, just the usual tightness. I didn't mean to exaggerate too much. I'm pretty sure I have the right size since it fits great everywhere else. It's pretty much turning into a spiritual self-mortification trip. I was just wondering there was a quick fix it tip that I didn't know.

Hey all,

Noob here

Does anyone have pics (worn) and measurements of the KMC 1972 jeans? I've ordered them and am wondering how much they flare up (how wide they are at the bottom) since I've never worn bootcut jeans before.

Thanks in advance.

Call the soho, la and brooklyn stores and ask if they have them. They might have some instore still and they do phone orders. They're part stretch so they don't stretch a bunch. I think i read that people only sized down 1 as they might've been a bit vanity sized still.

Hey ya'll. I'm essentially in the running for a few pairs of jeans, but am not sure what to buy. I'm looking for a step above my usual, which consists only of Levi's 501 originals in black and medium blue washes, no premium. I'm looking for something nice, but I can spend only in the $100 range, as I am on a tight budget. No $350 Japanese denim for me. If you have any suggestions for my purposes, brand names, anything, it would be much appreciated!

APC, NS (slim) or Rescue (relaxed), from Denim Bar Online, size down 2.

+1. There isn't much of a choice when you have roughly $100 and you want nice denim.

Good Society isn't bad for the value if you're looking for a sub $100 jean.
