Nah, the Rocker and 1950 are tapered according to context

Guess DB's description is wrong then.

(Something else for the new site...)

True on his Earnest Sewn, but not so much on the Lee Gold 101z, which has low-to-medium rise.

101z's have one of the lowest rises, it's like 8.5"...

I'm looking for something in a slim straight leg, fairly slim top block and mid-low rise. I think I basically want something like an APC NS without the taper, or a PBJ 005's that are a tad bigger all around. 8.5-9" knee and hem would be fine after shrinkage. My LBDs have stretched to 33.5-34" after considerable wear, so that appears to be my true waist (or true wherever-it-is-that-I-wear-my-jeans) but I have no problem stretching something out. I'd prefer the denim should be on the lighter side, as I've got several months of 90+ temps to deal with. I could spend up to $250 if they're amazing but I'd rather keep it sub-$200.

Flat Head's F310 meets all your requirements including amazing denim albeit hem being a hair smaller than 8.5".

Can be had under $200 in the second hand market, like this pair (no affliation w/ seller)

Thanks all that responded. I'd rather not go tapered because I'd like to keep a slim knee without a 8" or less leg opening, which I'd really just like to stay away from for this pair. Any reason the F380s wouldn't work for what I'm looking for or are they too relaxed in the seat and thighs?

I currently have a pair of APC new standards in 29 that are a little loose as i lost about 10 lbs. i was considering getting the new cure in 28. how would these compare or should i just go with the new standard in 28? thanks!

In the market form some skinnier jeans so I bought Thin Finns in Dry Black Coated 27x34. Compared to my sz 28 Skulls 5010 (hemmed to some amount like 33" or something) Not really sure if I want to keep them, but I think tapered jeans are better for my legs than slim straight.

Looking for a pair of black overdye jeans, preferably raw, under $200 -- slim fit, perhaps a slight taper but nothing too extreme, something that will stack nice with a sleeker dress shoe. Suggestions?

The best bet is a bit more expensive. KMW black selvage context collab is exactly what you're looking for.

Looking for a new pair of jeans in the next couple of months. I have a pair of RRDGs sz 31, but they're hip, thigh, and ball huggers. Fit is fair in the waist -- was tight at first but loosened up after a week or two. I have 25" thighs at the largest point, and 23.5" or so towards the middle. True waist fluctuates from 29 to 32 depending on the time of year. It's getting close to the point where i plan on keeping it on the lower end year round, though I tend to wear my jeans on my hips (36"). I've got a pretty big ass as well. some fit pics of my 501's (cheap $30 pair, not LVC). Also a pic of the back pocket & crotch that are torn to hell -- I tend to wear my jeans reasonably hard. I kinda dig the fit on these and they're beat to shit so they're really comfortable, and also stretched significantly from where they started. They are 32x32. I'm 5'10 and weigh around 180. Looking at: *Eternal 811's (too slim? damn i love the denim and cut on these) *LVC 1947 (same Q as 811's - slim side on thighs) *Samurai S0500XX (on the fence with these, seem to fit the bill but something doesn't seem quite right) *Sugarcane 1947/hawaii/okinawa (like these but from pictures I've seen the leg opening looks large. Not sure the differences between these other than the detailing - back pocket/patch/stitching in lining) *Edit: Forgot to add 45rpm to my list. Also open to other suggestions.

^^ 5EP. Both the SDZ and LDB should work.

5ep sdz (leaning towards resin right now) are all but a guaranteed purchase. should have mentioned that -- am looking for something else for the rotation. picking up some 5ep's when i find a deal that pops up.

but you're right, they're pretty close to ideal i think. i'd like something with a similar cut, lower rise, and slightly different denim to mix it up. Thanks!

I have a few pairs of raw denim, and haven't washed any of them yet. Thus, they tend to bleed on my white/khaki clothes, and even my khaki bag. Is there any way to lessen the bleeding, while still being able to work on my fades? I understand that if I wash the jeans, they'll bleed less, but they won't fade as well. Thanks in advance!
