Oh, so it is a good brand then. Thanks. Is it the fit&styling that are good or more the fabric quality? What about my question about stretching just to be sure: the two very slim fit pairs I got have to be returned, right?

I'm going in having read your post about sizing actually (hey I did do my homework before starting to ask questions), and assuming store clerks will be helpful.

Samurais sizing problem was with the heavier denim for Lot 10. I had a pair of 710xx's that I ended up selling. Tagged size 34, pre wash was 35, and shrank to a 33. For the most part the Lot 10 would shrink to 1 below tagged size. This problem was reportedly fixed with Lot 11, and they should shrink to tagged size as normal.

I am looking for some help with replacement jeans to wear with a nice tucked in button down shirt, or a polo shirt. I have a pair of medium wash straight cut j. Crew jeans which are very nice, but the waistband is really thin and doesn't seem to work very well tucked in. What are y <$100 alternatives?

Am I missing something.. or doing something wrong.. because everytime I try on pants/jeans with a 29 or 30 inseam they're still FAR too long and hang way past my foot. I get them hemmed to fit. Is this what other people do?

Some people do.

I recommend buying jeans which have a more tapered leg so that they stack on your shoes. I wear a 32L, but almost always buy 34 to get a couple of breaks at the ankle. hemming is not terrible, but it can hurt the cut of some jeans.

How much do raw RRLs stretch at the waist? Should I be buying them like APCs where I can just barely button the buttons?

APC is French and seeing as how you're in Paris you could swing by their store and see what you think of the jeans for yourself. APC NS is known for its styling and fit rather than its denim quality.

I have a feeling that you wouldn't be as inclined to wear jeans that would foreseeably need 10-15+ wears before fitting the way you'd like as you would jeans that fit pretty close to how you want out of the box and loosen up quickly.

So yes, return those two other pairs.

If you plan on ever washing them, I wouldn't recommend do that. Make sure they're snug at first but not tight because they tend to shrink a bit in the waistband after a wash and tend to stay that way.

Thanks. Any opinions on these from a quality standpoint? Are the Flatheads at $290 on par (or above) in terms of quality compared to Dior at about $325 or the Somets?

Not sure about Somets, but if we're only taking quality into consideration, any of the brands listed would eat Dior for breakfast. Cut, instead of denim, has always been Dior's main draw.

Regarding denim, there're other things you might want to think about as well. For instance, Flathead's famous for producing nice contrast fades (might or might not be the case for their black jeans) relatively quickly, while Iron Heart is almost the exact opposite. Also consider denim weight, weave characteristic (how heavy it feels upon wearing depends more on the latter, btw) etc.

Ok, so the yoke of a jean is the diagonal seam in the back, above the pockets, right? What exactly does a "low yoke" (specifically in the case of Imperial Dukes) do to the fit?

how many types of selvedge denim are there? are there classes of selvedge denim and/or is selvedge denim automatically better than non-selvedge denim? how do i find out the weight of the denim and quality of the selvedge fabric?

Hey guys. I had a question regarding Cheap Monday jeans. I tried searching but couldn't find an answer. Do Cheap Mondays shrink in inseam when you wash them? I'm not sure if I should get my regular inseam or one a couple inches longer. Thanks.
