thx

Hello to everyone

Anyone here famliar with earnest sewn models. I just got by the mail earnest sewn fulton jeans, I am looking for straight leg models, this one fits me nice, but the leg is slighly slim for my taste, I don´t think is a true staright leg cut, but a little slim fit.

I am wondering about the syd model (vintage straight leg) and the hemingway model (full leg, I don´t really understand waht this means) any experience with this two models

Best regards

Thanks for the info. The good point for APC in my case is that they are in Paris, which means I can go there and try them on.

Just to be sure I have to return the previous two I bought online, do you (or anybody) know those brands (XStone Revolution and Costume national)? Do they stretch a lot? Maybe my incomfort was just me being confronted for the first time with slim fit jeans. I understand the tighs and calves never stretch?

I will probably sound shallow, but what I mainly want is something that will look good to others, mainly of the female persuasion. I have not developed a taste for denim myself like I have for other types of clothes.

^^^ Then APC should be a no-brainer if you're in Paris.

I mostly agree, but keep in mind that trying on a new pair of APC will give you very little idea how they'll actually fit once they start to stretch. If the APC store has a pair of worn 32's you can try on, that would be a more useful test than trying on a new pair of 34s (which will feel ok in the store but will be falling down around your knees after a week) or a new pair of 32s (which will feel like tights (um, I mean what I imagine tights would feel like . . .) when you put them on but will loosen up with very little wear.

Hey, looking to get a pair of jeans which fits me well and looks good, obviously.

Price range isn't too high unfortunately, and I can usually only get the brands I'm after during big sales, but either way around $100 is the preferred range (of course lower is better..).

My favorite pairs of jeans I own now are a pair of Nudie Even Stevens and a pair of Levi's 501 Slim and Straight. Usually take a size 30, though I have the occasional differing size (Nudie's are 32, because that's all I could get, could easily take a 31 or maybe even 30 however. 29's are too small).

I like darker jeans, which are not really tight, but well fitted, usually end up buying slim fit in most jeans. However, they look great when I'm standing and such, but on some jeans I have the problem of my thighs bulging and looking massive when I'm sitting.

So basically, I'm looking for a darker pair of jeans, which are well fitted, won't make my thighs look massive while seated, and are around $100.

I found a few pairs on sale @ Revolve Clothing. Any comments on them, or alternative jeans I should be looking at?

Academi Straight size 31 - $56.00
Crate Squire Jean size 30 - $96.00
Denim & Thread Slim Straight Leg size 30 - $105.00
5EP Straight Down Zip size 30 - $119.00

Sorry for the long post, but thanks for any help! Can probably get measurements if that would help any.

Of the list, I would go with the 5ep SDZ. I have a pair and love them.

Guess I will ask for opinions and/or recommendations here:

I am looking for a pair of quality black raw jeans, with a slim cut. The leg opening should be less than 8'', ideally around 7-7.75''. I have been reading up a bit of the Somet 018's, but the seriously low rise has me a little worried.

I am also considering Dior jeans, but any other recommendations? I want to invest in a good pair, so if the jeans are quality, I don't mind paying a premium for them.

dyzfunctioned,

If Nudies in size 29 are too small for you, chances are your true size is closer to 31 than 30. I could deduct this from the general rule of thumb to size down 1 on most Nudies (and 2 on APC New Standard). Levis denim stretch a ton, so they're really not the best comparison point.

Out of the options listed, I'd agree with feynmix that the 5EP SDZ offers the most bang for your buck. Provided what I said above regarding sizing is correct, you should still take a size 30 in those as 5EP do have some vanity sizing to them.

One possible caveat, however, is that the SDZ has high-ish rise, similar to Levis 501 cut. So if you want to try something more "modern", w/ lower rise, I'd give Crate Squire a shot. Size 31.

Thanks for the very informative reply. I really like the 5EP's, but usually aren't a fan of high rise, and the Crates are only in size 30. Shall most likely get the 5EP's though, thanks for the great advice.

PBJ 005BK (rise not much higher than Somet tho)
Ironheart 1634 Black
Flathead 4001BK
Imperial offer black as an option for all of their cuts.

Even in a 30 dzyfunctioned might be fine with the Crates. Mine have easily stretched out 2" after several wears.

Haha, you just had to make my decision harder. Any suggestions? I've never owned/tried on either, and the closest comparison I have is my Nudies. I've heard good things about the 5EP's, but low-rise is a bit more appealing, and the Crates are a bit cheaper.

I own pairs from both companies. The denim on the 5EP's is nicer but I prefer lower rises. Personally, it's more about what fit I'm more likely to wear than the better deal.

^ As who said, the waist will be alright after stretching (shouldn't take too long or be painful) if not right off the rack. Will probably fit well elsewhere too, provided you don't have thunder thighs like moi.
They're both straight leg, and I don't have the opportunity to try either on so it's a bit tough to call which fit I'll prefer, other than low vs. high. Thanks for both your help though! Made a big difference.
