I have a jean...(The Ultimate Jean Thread For Beginners) - ask questions here. - Page 199

I really like the Nudie Slim Jim in Dry Black Coated, but how do these respond to wear in relation to, say, APC NS? I also don't think I can wear the Dry Black Coated as consistently as I can wear the NS. Thoughts?

I'm torn right now whether I should go for APC NS or Nudie SJ.

Also, I think you will find that most, if not all, jeans with a zipper fly will not have leg twist too.

Having an unsaforized jean with a zipper fly would be a terrible idea because everything would get shot to hell after it shrinks.

Is there any other denim with the same color as PBJ XX-010? Perhaps something cheaper and easily available?

Exactly, so, that is why I said if there is leg twist on SJs, I would say it is more than likley a flaw or imaginiation.

Hey, so right now I'm working on a pair of NS, my first pair of raw denim, and I love them. I still have a ways to go with them, but I sorta want a second pair of jeans to work on simultaneously, something with a wider cut.

My problem, however, is that I'm 6'5 and need something with at least a 36" inseam, preferably a bit longer for more stacking. I've thought about getting a pair of Rescues, but I sorta want something a little different to inject some variance in my denim lineup, something not made by APC necessarily. I'm also interested in LVCs or some repros, but really I'm open to anything that has a wider cut than NSs and has a long enough inseam.

Any suggestions would be great.

You might like Flathead F380.. wider more relaxed cut. Higher rent though. They progress beautifully though...

If one can fit the width of their index and middle finger (at least an inch maybe a little more) in the waist of some unsanforized FH will those be a good fit after soaking. These are to shrink 1 to 1.5" inches in the waist.

In general, how should the waist of unsanforized denim, that will shrink 1 to 1.5" inches, fit pre-soak in order to get a nice post-soak fit?

Can someone recommend me a few different pairs of jeans at different price points and tell me where the cheapest place to get them is? It would be much appreciated. I tried on the APC new standards and the hipsters in size 29. I liked the rise on the hipsters but the straight leg of the new standards - anything like that around? I have a pair of Earnest Sewn Jakimos and they have a 9 inch rise. Something between a 9 and 11 inch rise would be perfect (ie 10 ) And here are the BiG measurements for a pair of jeans I like (minus the front rise) after washing and stretching: Waist 32 Front rise 11 Back rise 14 3/4 Upper thigh 11.5 Inseam 30 Knee 16 12/16 Leg opening 16 4/16

Yes, quite interested in this information, as well.

Crate Journal, sized up 1 or 2 (they run small), sound like it. They're available at SecretService (banner above) for $150 before SF discount. Crate denim this season is excellent, I have a pair in another model and love them.

PBJ 005 and Somet Straight are also good, albeit pricier, options. Check with BiG.

Theory, assuming you were talking to me, according to the sizing guide on SelfEdge the F380s shrink more than most denim, and would probably go from a 38 inseam to a 35.5 or 35, which is a bit too short for me, I think. It's too bad, though, they're essentially what I'm looking for, if a little on the pricier side.

Ande Whall. I think he has sizes up to a 38" standard and you can request up to a 44" inseam for 25 bucks more.

Is secretservice a blog? I can't figure out what's going on in there...

cross post question: I got a pair 1980s in size 32, which measured out to be about 16.25-16.50 in the waist.... i have worn them for about half a day and they have already stretched to about 17.0 in the waist.... stretched out super quick! If they dont stretch anymore I will be ok (they are belted)..... anybody have any idea if im in for more stretching?

You're not going to lose 3 inches from a shrink.. maybe one in the inseam then combing eat will a bit more.
