Whoa...
100% cotton is one thing, 97% cotton with 3% elastane is another. Your APC NSs are the former. If she's going N&F then her jeans might stretch out a bit like yours, but how much entirely depends on the kind of denim, the kind of wear, etc.

Are there any other recomendations out there for a pair of raw, slim, but not skinny black denim?

You might find 19oz denim ok, but heat really gets to me so i could never do it (i usually won't wear jeans if it's hotter than 22-23 ). You could try the APC NS in raw black, Imperial Duke (Aussie made), Nudie Straight Sven dry black, Dior 21cm... there are a few options.

Sorry to repost, just wondered if anybody knows anything about these.

You could call and ask - they're usually very helpful.

HI
I just got my lee 101z today, I was debating whether to soak it or not. I don't know if it is standfordized already. Also the leg fits perfectly, if I soak it, I am afraid that it would shrink too much. If you guys has any experience with 101z please share.

Another question, if the leg is too long, then should I hem it right away or should I wait after soak. I usually wears 32 length. The 101z I got is 34' length.

Homme, you've crushed my hopes and deams with your logic and common sense advice! You make a good point, thanks. Damn our climate!

Back to looking through the stores again. I'm thinking Imperial Duke in black or KMW in indigo, though not sure which model.

Seriously though, you don't wear jeans if its over 23? If I went by that, I'd only wear them for 2 weeks of the year!

Long time creeper, first time poster. Pretty basic question here (or two/three/four).

I was wondering is this real selvage. I am pretty sure that is not what selvage is supposed to look like. This has always perplexed me.

Second question. I should probably have bought tighter jeans hey? I picked up some 30-34s (my usual size, brand was j lindberg) in December and have been wearing them a lot since then. However, I am not getting a ton of fades/whiskers so far.. is it faster with tighter jeans?

Third, does anyone carry an epi pen? Sadly I have to.. If you guys do where you keep it when outside in jeans and a t-shirt?

Thanks yo!

That's not any kind of "fake selvage". It's a double seam finished outseam. It will eventually fade into train tracks like selvage, and there's an almost zero chance of raveling anyway with today's denim and stitching.

Really the only difference is that if you cuff those they won't look as nice as selvage would.

Thats what I thought. I was looking at buying a pair of Nudies this weekend and I noticed that they had that same type of inseam stitching.. I may wait now until I can find selvage. Edit: I see, Average Joes are not selvage.

Tight jeans can change the KINDS of fades but a looser pair should fade just as much. Not all jeans are made the same way with the same dyes. While I've seen a few pairs of raw jeans from JL, they're not exactly known for their fading qualities. Not to say that they wouldn't after lots of wear, but probably don't fade as fast as say...Nudies.

You need to look at outseam stitching. Also, once you go an see some selvage jeans you'll likely clear up any doubt and have no trouble distinguishing in the future.

I've gotten about 3 months or so on my APCs and they are fading steadily. I'm going to be wearing them pretty hard this summer so I think they'll be done as a project jean by mid August or so. For my next pair I'm thinking of going Flat Head F310. I will be doing an initial hot soak and will likely do several follow up soaks before washing.

My question is what size should I get. I take a 30 in NS and my actual waist measurement is 32" but due to stretching size 32 jeans usually end up too roomy. I'd like a slim fit but preferrably not ball busting. I'm a 32 in RRL non-raw with about an inch of room in the waist.
