Are you right? Only the lord knows what is right, so don't kid yourself in thinking you do. Want your jeans tight? Buy them tight. Want them looser/more comfy? Buy them at that point. I don't see how this is hard

Is it really necessary to be so snide? It's not like I've violated rules by creating threads for every single question I've had and whatnot. I'm just trying to get my money's worth because I can't try jeans on in person and have to order them online. Is there really something wrong with trying to get perfectly-fitting jeans? I'm just trying to figure out how different brands differ in terms of stretching and shrinking.

Typically, no, but when someone repeatedly asks over several days for help only wind up saying, "Nah, nevermind" while still not quite paying attention to the advice given... it's sorta asking for it.

I didn't completely ignore you guys. It was a combination of the 31's being not as snug as I wanted them to be, and the fact that I didn't know they'd be so wide at the leg openings. I mean yeah, I asked for your guys' advice and followed it. I didn't completely disregard it at all.

If anything, I just didn't know what to expect in terms of the fit, and the size was honestly too loose.

Seems like you've tried a variety of jeans on before. There is no secret to this. Also, there is a wealth of information out there if you search around here and sufu. Everybody's question has been asked before. But seriously. Most of the raw jeans people buy are tight at first but stretch. If you don't like this process of having to tough it out in your jeans for a week before they're comfy and fit well, then size up and have them be comfier from the get go, but perhaps not as slim in a month. You're overthinking everything.

If I'm a 28 in New Standards, would I be a 30 in rigid Straight Down Zip?

Typical situation: searching second pair of nice jeans after APC NS. What I would like: - not quite as slim as APC NS. Open to suggestions how to translate this into jeans cut - raw selvage denim - thick, durable denim. I really liked the hand of the APC denim. I want my jeans to be knockabout, not having to care if they get heavy use. That's a big part of the denim fun for me. - no-nonsense styling (no offensive stitching etc) - 35" inseam or more. My APCs measure 35" and I'd like to show the selvage on my next pair. - if possible, under € 200. I already looked around quite a bit, with no satisfactory results. I liked the description of the Ironhearts as such a sturdy, durable jean, but they only come in 34" inseam. Also, I'm not sure if the cut would flatter me. I wrote above that I'd like a slightly fuller cut, but by that I really meant only slightly. It's just that I'm 192 cm tall and wear 31x35 in jeans (29 in APC NS) - go figure what my figure looks like. The NS look fine, but anything skinnier would look silly, imo. APC rescues also would be an obvious option since I like the denim - problem is the inseam. I had a look at the various Nudie cuts since they are reasonably priced, Average Joe would prob. meet my needs in terms of cut, but they also don't come in longer than 34. Also, the stitching on the back pocket really turns me off. Crate Route comes in 35" which might be just barely long enough, but I have heard mixed opinions about the quality. Acne - ruled out by inseam. Are there any other options I've overlooked? Or do I have to bite the bullet and buy one of the japanese repro brands like Samurai which come in 36" or even 38" (pre-wash) inseam? edit: I just measured my APC NS (which is tagged 29): now it measures 33". That doesn't change my inseam problem though.

looking for some slim, black jeans that would look good with a sports shirt, blazer, whatever, etc.

My child-bearing hips fill out my APC NS's and am happy with the look. Probably looking for something a bit slimmer. Should work, right?

I suppose I like the look of the Dior MIJs but just seeing what else is out there. Thanks!

Is this accurate? Here are some measurements off of a heavily worn pair of AA slim slacks taken BiG style: Waist: 30 Front rise: 9 Back rise: 12 Thigh: 20 Inseam: 31.5 Knee: 14.5 Hem: 14
I guess no one likes answering my questions.

1) Probably NC if you're looking for a skinny fit. 2) Expect 1"-2"+ of stretching. 3) Any doubts, check out the APC thread. 4) No idea why the AA measurements are here but if that's the fit you want compare them to the measurements you see online.

I saw these for sale at revolve. Are these true raw selvedge denim? They say they have 2% spandex in them. Would these be a good buy? EDIT: Fixed link: http://www.revolveclothing.com/Displ...im&s=C&d=b&n=n

Wear them a while, allow them to settle, and then hem if needed.

Sounds like you just answered your own question. I'm sure you can find something for around $225 on Blue in Green or wait around for some sales to bring down the price for you.

BTW, there's nothing wrong with Crate but if you're that serious about the 35" inseam then I wouldn't want you to break them in, lose an inch in just the creases, and then be unhappy.

I'm sure there's a black jeans thread somewhere but maybe try tracking down some black APC NC or some April 77's. Also try looking to Naked & Famous which you can find on Farinelli's blog.
