I'm looking for a pair of white selvedge jeans in a straight fit with a decent rise. I usually wear Gustin jeans but they don't produce white jeans so I'm hoping for something similar to gustin straight fit.

Someone recommended Jean Shop jeans which I had never heard of, in their Rocker fit (which is their straight fit) but they are sold out in my size. Im a 32.5" waist, so I usually get a 31 in Gustins.

I checked out Unbranded, Naked and Famous, plus some other brands I saw reading through 20 pages of this thread but few make white jeans, if they do they are skinny fit and those are usually sold out.

Any ideas welcome. Thanks for the help.

Big John makes a nice white selvedge, mid-rise straight fit. SF affiliate No Man Walks Alone stocks Big John, although it doesn't look like they currently have the white in stock.

Pretty sure RRL does a straight or slim straight in white, too.

This is making me think … "do I want some white jeans?" and part of me says "yes" and another part is just vehemently shaking his head back and forth … "noooooooooo!"

I was searching around on ebay and found some RRL in straight leg that look great. Thanks for the heads up @lawyerdad!! Much appreciated. I've never worn RRL before but I imagine its decent quality. I thought it was Japanese selvedge from RRL but I guess that was Jcrew.

is there an acne jeans fit guide? kinda like the apc one:

i have no idea what terms like "ace" or "max" or "cash" or "cigarette leg" refer to

alternatively, if somebody could just tell me what the name of their skinniest jean in black would be, that'd work too!

I like the fit in the ass and thighs, but not so much the calf and ankle area. I'm a 30" inseam, so I'd have to hem 5-6 inches, and the leg opening is just too big if I have to do that. Can anyone recommend a jean that fits roughly the same as the Weird Guys in the ass and thighs but has a little bit more taper down low? Being short and having to hem a ton sucks.

Thanks!

I've found that Big John's slim tapered fit is almost exactly what you described. The front rise is maybe a little higher (at least comparing a size 29 in N&F WG to a size 29 Big John slim tapered), but this is a good thing IMO.

I have a pair of the Big John white jeans, and they're pretty wearable; the weft is darker, so they have more of a "dirty" look to them.

Anyone wearing the Big John slim tapered whose usually a 30" inseam? The fit looks like what I'm looking for but the inseam is so long I suspect I'd probably have to get them hemmed (too much stacking).

Basically I still wear APC NS that have been hemmed and tapered, but they're 4-5 yrs old and I don't know if I should just buy another pair or if there's something better on the market now. Looking for all of these in solid black btw.

Blasphemy! There's no such thing.

Good point - they're more of an off-white than like a Crest 3D Optic White or whatever.

nvm, i'm an idiot. i only ever browsed acne's site on mobile until today where i saw their explanations on the desktop site.

with that said, which brand would you guys recommend for a skinny black jean - acne or nudie? or are there better brands out there (for under $300)?

preferably, i would've really liked a raw, selvedge jean in black, but i'm too skinny even for most brands' smallest sizes (for reference, i wear a 26 in petit standards for a skinny fit; i'm 5'8, 125 lbs.). or actually, now that i think about it, i'm not sure acne's thin will be small enough for me seeing as how their smallest size is a 28/32, which is why i'm leaning towards nudie at the moment since they offer smaller options.

but i'm not really that big a fan of the brand, so do you guys know of any other brands that cater to smaller people (especially if they make black raws)?

Any reason you don't want black APCs? I feel like those are a perfectly cromulent option. I could go either way on Acne and Nudie. Both are fashion brands that I don't really think of as heavy hitters in the denim world.

How about Pure Blue Japan's slim tapered fit? I think those go down to at least 27 and probably aren't as vanity sized as APCs. I know they have a no-fade black that you can get at Blue in Green. Not sure if you can find it cheaper direct from Japan.

@masshi
Not sure I can help you with black raws, but I think if you were willing to give up that criterion, there are options out there without having to resort to women's jeans.

This is a great pair of jeans (and now available at great price):

http://www.oki-ni.com/en/apparel/raf-simons-slim-fit-jeans-011371.html

I ordered and had to return the only size they have left (28). I'm pretty skinny myself and do wear a size 28 in plenty of other brands (Balenciaga, Lanvin, usually also Raf), but this pair fit so excruciatingly small/skinny I could barely get into the legs still less start thinking about closing the zip-fly. (You may have to have them hemmed though as they are quite long.)

Also, don't know if you're into Off-White c/o Virgil Abloh but I just returned a pair of size 27 men's Off-White jeans to Yoox b/c again they were so small/skinny I could only with the greatest effort get into the legs but no way button up the fly. They're not back up on the site yet but shouldn't be long.

I tried on a pair of Y-3 black raws a while back in a size 29 from a few seasons ago that was pretty damn small-fitting as well, but of course they don't do them every season.
