of course it reflects their experience, but I think i've come across one complaint on this forum so far. I'm sure there are others that have had issues with N&F but when you consider how many jeans they probably sell in a year the quality/construction debates seem frivolous.

I decided I'm not looking to get into raw denim just yet, don't want to deal with the headache of sizing and breaking in ect. I've been looking at Hedi Slimane era Dior jeans on grailed that are my size. I've heard good things about them and I like the washes. Any info on their quality/fit/longevity? Should I look somewhere else for the price point of around $200?

At that price point there are so many great options. I recommend you actually try on denim from several makers until you find the fit that works best for you. If you have a good shop somewhere nearby that stocks different makers and fits try on several until you find the pair that you like best. There are so many great makers out there, and they all fit differently.

Sizing question... I have a pair of corduroy jeans that are probably my best fitting pair of casual pants. I measured them (after wearing, so they're stretched), and it seems like the Brave Star Slim Straight size 33 is an almost exact match. If I got these, should I stick to size 33, or will there be enough stretching to size down?

My big issue with these specifically is that the (doubled) thigh measurement jumps 1" between size 33 and 32. (I probably just answered my own question, since my thighs are 25". Don't think 24 1/4" thigh jeans would work.)

... but, if anyone has any response to my rambling, I'd appreciate it.

I think you're definitely right to worry about the sausage thigh issue. A tight waist will generally stretch out a bit. Thighs that are too small, not so much. I've learned to choose jeans mainly by thigh and calf size.
You can either just wash the jeans regularly, which should shrink the waist back down if it has stretched out, or wear a belt.

Finding a cut with big enough thighs, a moderate rise, and "slim" (15.5ish) leg opening is my latest quest.

Gustin, Taylor Stitch come to mind.

Don't think Gustin would work, but Taylor Stitch might.

Gustin 35 (35.5" waist) = 24.75" thigh, 18.25" leg opening (straight fit)

Brave Star 33 (35" waist) = 25.25" thigh, 15.5" leg opening (slim straight)

Taylor Stitch 34 (35" waist) = 25.5" thigh, 16.25" leg opening (democratic)

Are Jean Shop jeans available in Canada?

Im copyin my post from APC thread, as i didnt get any response there.

I have a sizing question. I've read sooo much about APCs, even had ones but still want  opinion of you guys if possible. So, my waist measures 83cm-32inch. A week ago i ordered PNS in size 30, as I assumed they would fit based on a fact I had PS 29 before(those were super thight and never really streteched out enough in thighs). They turned out to be much thigher than i expected and measured. They hug my thighs and with my experiences from previous pair i know that thighs dont stretch that much... So i exchanged them for PNS 31. I quite like the fit in thighs, and Im leaning towards keeping them. Leg , below the knee is quite ok as well, i might get it slightly tapered tho. The thing is, waist is sligthly loose. I would say like 1cm too loose. They dont fall off my ass but im afraid of stretching.. What do u guys think ? Should I just wear a belt and not worry to much ? There is no pressue on waist, so it shouldnt be massive right ? Here are some picture, i hope they help

In my personal opinion, take the roomier thigh and put a belt around the waist. I am also a 32 in the waist, and bought a pair of APC PS in a 29 a few years back. The waist did stretch out but the thighs are still too tight. I can wear them, but getting into a car or climbing stairs is awkward :p I've made the same mistake with a pair of Samurai's. waist fitted fine but thighs were tight.

From now on I disregard the waist, I look for a good fit on my thighs. A belt will minimise the stretch of the waist, the waist on your pair looks fine.

I just picked up a pair of the 16oz orange id denim (same as G's Okayama Standards) in the slim taper. I would've gone with the slim straights, which is probably what would work for you, but they didn't have it. the slim taper is definitely fitted for me -- 11.5" thigh, 8" knee and 7.25" hem but over time they'll stretch out. the quality is there as well. sewn in belt loops and double belt loops in the back, chainstitched hems and nice hardware. i'd be in on the 18.5oz Kuroki jeans but already have a pair from another brand en route to me.

Yeah, that's what I was thinkin, especially cause I had same experience with my previous APC PS... Thanks for the answer !! :)

Can anyone think of a pair of raw jeans that have a similar fit to the Japan Blue high tapered but with a slightly wider hem width?

So...higher rise (especially the back rise), decent room in the thighs, and a hem opening closer to 7.2"? Not looking for skinny (6.75") leg openings like on the high tapered fit. The regular slim tapered fit from Japan Blue almost perfectly fits what I want except for the back rise (too short). And the Big John slim tapered is perfect in the rise/top block but pretty damn skinny.
