They make solid jeans, you could do much worse. Not too many mid to top tier brands make raw, gray selvage. The brand I mentioned above, Dior Homme, might, but they may not be this season, APC possibly, and I hate possibly recommending this brand, but Naked and Famous might but they too may not be this season.

Edit: I assume when you say Japanese you are using that as being synonymous with selvage, because I am fairly sure Left Field is Cone Mills, could be wrong though, and most of what I said wouldn't apply then.

Go for the Left Field if you like them!

Cone Mills use the same original Levi's looms as the Japanese do, so you're not getting anything different, just saving on import tax etc🐱

I wasn't the one interested, it was the other guy. My jean line up is on point. IH-22-301s, IH-555-01s, -02s, -03s, and Dior Homme 19cm MIJ that are my beaters and are perfectly broken in. Will never understand the haters on those jeans. Just wash them when there dirty, that simple, and they'll last forever and look amazing.

I've been eyeing this:

Fortunately APC makes smaller sizes due to a lot of their jeans being unisex (a lot of brands aren't skinny enough sometimes; I wear a 26 in PS for reference), and they're selvage too, but the shade isn't the exact shade I'm looking for.

Try ACNE.

Does anyone have a suggestion for a jean with a fit similar to APC petit new standards, but with a higher front and back rise? I'm especially looking for a pair available in black.

Basically i have no knowledge about jeans, so normally i just purchase a pair of Cheap Mondays and they really fit me well.

What are the differences to more expensive pairs (e.g., APC) ?

My Somet 008 just blew out in the crotch.

Can someone recommend me a similar jean? Super low rise, very skinny, edgy cut?

That would take a lot of typing and a lot of patience to answer in one sitting. I suggest you do a little research. Look up selvedge denim. Go to websites like selfedge.com and blueingreen.com. Read this thread from the beginning. There ya go. Question answered.

Saint Laurent Paris 15.5 cm cut.

If I only wear jeans once or at most twice a week, is there any purpose to purchase raw denim in the less than $100 range? Is there a significant quality jump for jeans in the $100 range compared to levis and uniqlo?

I presume the popular picks in the $100 range are probably Gustin or Unbranded.

Unbranded is nice and so are my iron hearts, and I pick them because I like to spend money on clothes, but honestly I don't think there's a significant improvement in the wearing experience, at least not 100+% (or 600%) of it. I quite like my uniqlos and even though I see them as beaters now, I doubt many/anyone can tell which pair is better. Maybe the unbranded would fade better; I do think the slimmer cut I got lends itself better for that, but that's just a cut thing.

I like my Uniqlos as well. I plan on buying a pair of 3sixteen and Rogue Territory selvedge next. That being said, my Uniqlos fit me perfectly and they're dirt cheap. For starter raw selvedge Uniqlo is the best bang for your buck. But, if you want more interesting fabrics then the cost goes up

Looking to purchase new jeans.. I like a slim tapered fit preferably with a 7inch hem or smaller. Been looking at heavy weight denim but all the heavy ones ive seen are a more straight or relaxed fit. IH has the weight that im looking for but more of a baggier fit. Only ones ive seen that are decent are the blue owl momota4o stealth warriors that r slim tapered and 18ounces. What other brands should I look at?
