I cant seem to find 508's in the size and inseam Im looking for.   I tried many sites but the size I want is always sold out. 29 waist 34 inseam.  Is there any other sites that I can find 508s?

they'd shrink a little but probably not by much. depending how much you want them to shrink, you could also hot dry them too but it can lead to some indigo bleed onto the weft threads.

If you machine wash them very hot they might shrink a bit - can't you exchange them for the right size?smile.gif

They been hemmed already, do you think is worth it to wash them hot dry? can this affect the denim?

If you hot dry them, yes, they will definitely shrink!!

But only do it if they are regular jeans, I'd hate to think of you ruining a pair of Japanese Selvedge jeans that cost hundreds of dollars!!

What jeans are they?smile.gif

Ok, 3sixteen SL-130, I wont hot dry them. They fit very well now, I am just afraid that they are going to stretch with wear and the may end up big. On the other hand I heard these dont strecth much, so I guess I might be Ok.

This my first pair of raw jeans, I heard soaking raw jeans before wearing them is the right thing to do even if they are sanforized. Shold I give a cold or hot soak? for how long?

cheers

Don't hot dry 3 sixteens - you'll ruin them!

Well done on your great choice - just get out and start enjoying them!

If they fit really well now you'll be fine - they won't stretch much!

You don't need to soak raw jeans if they're sanforized...

Hope this helps!!!!smile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gifsmile.gif

why are you so obsessed with soaking them

just wear them and let them and let them be

unless you went skin tight they're not gonna stretch drastically, and with a soak you're gonna lose indigo (meaning no high contrast fades)

their current rigidity (which you'd lose with a soak) also lends itself to better fades due to harder creasing and what not

I read that soaking your jeans before wearing is always good, even if they are sanforized, is good for the denim, is this true?

you're making this waaaayyyyyyyy too complicated. if they fit well now, you'll most likely be fine. 3sixteen denim doesn't stretch nearly as much as some other brands. unless your definition of fitting well is super skin tight then yes the jeans will stretch a little bit but again, their denim really doesn't stretch that much. i had a pair of the shadow selvedge that barely stretched even after a year of hard wear.

as for soaking your denim, the only thing that will happen with soaking your jeans is that it can soften up the denim.  just start wearing them already.

Not to derail bonneys question but do 508s stretch a lot? Is sizing down ideal? From my knowledge I understand they contain elastic.

Which one for summer jeans? I'm leaning towards the first even though it's heavier. The second is too close in color to my APC NS indigo

What spurred me on this search was receiving my last and final pair of levis this week from zappos. It was just a joke, and a bad one at that. Never before had a felt a cheaper pair of jeans in my hands and I had enough. Enough with the jeans made in four different countries. Enough of the cheap thin materials. Enough with the lottery of not knowing if the jeans would even fit.

I have ordered three pairs of jeans to see what options are availible to me. One is a pair of Lincolns from All American Clothing. The second a pair of raw white oak cone denim jeans from Pointer Brand. And the third is a pair of Agave denim found nwot at a steep eBay discount. Really excited to see how they turn out!

Just to update I did receive the jeans from Pointer Brand. Really beautiful denim and solid construction. But the styling was very work wear inspired and the super long rise just didn't fit for me. So they went back. Agaves and All Americans should arrive very shortly. Sent some sizing questions to Williams urg Garment but haven't received a reply.

I'm very sorry that the pointer jeans weren't any good...:-(

Good luck with the Agave and the All Americans!!!

Hopefully the Willians ung Garment will be able to help too!

Looking for recommendations for a first pair of raw denim jeans.  Tall, skinny guy, and I'm looking for a fairly slim fit.  For reference, I like the fit of Levi's 511s, but I'd be willing to go a little looser and a little higher rise.  I'm fine to do some cuffing, but I'm not into the stacked look, so I'd like to avoid inseams of 36 or more.
