If a person is talking about their waist, I always take it as True waist size.   If people refer to a pants waist size... well then its up to the context if i take it as Vanity or TTS

So I posted an enquiry/suggestion in the Gustin thread and figured I may as well come over here and ask in general terms:

I'd love to find a pair of "regular" black or black warp/weft wax coated jeans made in a slim-but-not-skinny cut. Not costing a fortune would be a plus.

I see that Levis has a 508 that's coated but I'm not familiar with what else is out there. Any suggestions?

Not costing a fortune means different things for everyone

They almost look like waxed cotton pants. The stitching on the bottom makes me wonder..any idea what that's called?

wut.  Are you trying to ask about cutting your jeans into jean-shorts?  I also don't understand what a sewing machine has to do with cutting something.

Can I just use scissors?

Hey, I'm new to this forum. I'm sure this has been asked but since there's a thread specifically for people like me I might as well ask here;

I'm from the UK, usually around London/Cambridge area so there should be good options. I'm looking to spend 100-300 on a new pair of jeans. I'm fairly regular build on the slimmer/taller side, so it shouldn't be hard. I think a lot of brands out there are pretty bad, even though I don't know much about jeans, and I'd like to look for something that will last a while to use as my go-to pair, for when I want to dress a bit more casually. I think it/d be best if I tried them on in person. Where/which stores/which brand should I look into?

Yes. Cuff if you don't want the edges to be showing
