I'm like 5'8, ~125 lbs. and I'm finding that a lot of the brands I'm reading about (N&F, 3Sixteen, etc.) don't make jeans in sizes small enough to fit well on me.

I wear a 27 in APC PS for reference if that matters.

Is my only option to just gain weight or something? eek.gif

I'd like to know as well.

What are people's experiences with having denim taken in at the waist? What sort of instructions do you give to the tailor?

I always end up with a bigger waist size to fit my legs. I don't do tight thighs nor do I buy denim online anymore so I'm stuck with whatever I can get local (Baldwin, APC and United Stock Dry Goods).

Take a look at Gustin Denim, if you find them of interest contact me and I can save you $20.

So lets say the elastane stretches the thighs and knee like 2 inches ( and the elastane wears out ) Could i then get the thighs tailored to a skinnier fit and they would stretch as much? Thanks for the answer btw guys!

Elastane does wear out eventually, yep. Tailoring a worn pair of jeans might make things weird if you've got fades. Looser fits should stretch out less than skinny fits. You might consider buying a brand that doesn't stretch out much, like momotaro (no elastane tho), or just buy stuff you're ok with replacing when the elastane wears out. Or be ok with some knee bags.

Apc does make a black jean with some frequency.

3sixteen's slim cut in 28 isn't good for you? I'm down around your size and those are pretty slim on me. Also, the smallest sizes of some of the self edge and blue in green Japanese denim brands have smaller waists (and knees but it seems that's just me) than I can deal with.

Can anyone compare the fit of Gustin vs. 3Sixteen?  Would a 33 in both be around the same fit?

I have big thighs and slim waist so Levi's 508's fit me almost perfectly. But I'm looking for a raw denim option, what are my choices?

APC Petit New Standard?

I don't think those will fit big thighs. I've had a pair and they were really skinny. Have you tried on those fit yet?

Uhhhh, don't take this the wrong way but I can see your moose knuckle...Yeah, way too tight. Unless you really like the tight, painted on jeans look, I would size up at least 2 sizes or try a more fitting cut.

Hi guys.. I'm a noob and bought my first non-levis.

I had them hemmed, and I think he cut them too short. Anyone have a rule of thumb regarding length?

There is no set rule, but I always prefer to err on the side of too long over too short.

acinod i think some people tried to tell you in the apc thread already. even when you take camera angle, mirror angle, and distortion from both of them that fit is not very flattering on you. it probably wouldn't look much better stretched either.

if your insistent on apc try the new standard instead. the extra leg room below the lower knee will balance everything out more.

another note in reply to moose knuckle i get that too on my raw denim but its on new pairs usually after about 6 months straight wear 6 days a week 12-14hrs a day it goes away. but during the 6 months time side effect women staring at the cock.....facepalm.gif

so i noticed my apc ps have a slight leg twist on the right legging

is that common?

dumb question, but will the twisting become more exaggerated as i wear them?

'nother dumb question, but is there anything i can do about it?

it's minor, so if it just stays as is, i won't mind too much, but if it's only bound to get worse, i don't know...
