Does anyone know what that one made to order custom jeans site was? All I can remember is that it was based out of Japan, custom ordered right down to basically every detail. I wanted to check it out once I  had money again and now I completely forget what they were called.

yeah 30 length is not very common. 32 length is usually the shortest it'll go except for brands like Levi's who have options for almost any length. not 100% sure about the reason and i feel like the reasonings are going to vary depending on the brand but my guess is that it's easier to sell jeans that are longer bc all you have to do is hem so in theory, if the waist fits, then it's an option for you to buy them. on the flip side, if a jean is too short for someone, there's no getting around it. the longer length lets people hem them to the right length for them.

there's a lot in the 200 area. Baldwin, Imogene & Willie, RRL, Raleigh, Tellason, Japan Blue, Paul Rose. i think that'll be a good start.

Any recommendations for jeans that fit like 7's Slimmy but has better belt keeper positioning?

I have tried AGs, their belt keeper positions are worse.

I am looking at a pair of Edwin ed-71s on sale right now for $110. Is this a good buy or should i just spend more money on something else? Not familiar with Edwin. It is the rainbow selvege. Dont know much about that either. I am looking at some 3sixteens right now but for the price should i buy the Edwins and then wait a month or 2 to get the 3sixteens?

How many pairs of jeans are necessary when compiling a new wardrobe? I'm looking at investing in some quality clothes and Levi's 508s, Unbranded tapered 201s and N&F weird guys are all decent options for me. Is buying 2 different brands both in indigo unnecessary? I was thinking that there would be enough variation between the two that I'd enjoy wearing both and could even have one pair hemmed with a little bit of stacking and then another pair longer for cuffing.

but now I'm thinking that perhaps one pair of indigo jeans is all that's required and perhaps I should just get the Unbranded and then get N&F in a brown colour or something for variety? You guys own/regularly use more than 1 pair of dark indigos?

if you're into raw denim, then owning one indigo denim is definitely insufficient lol.

you could get indigo, black and white for a start? not necessarily raw as you can get a white pair from uniqlo too.

unbranded's navy and khaki chino looks solid and decent value.

Do not buy more than one pair if you don’t know much about denim yet. Here is how it works for most people:

1. Get a pair of APC New Standard or basic Naked & Famous (Wearing a pair of their SUVIN ELS cotton jeans as I am writing.) Both brands are good quality for a reasonable price and have a fit that looks flattering on many people.

2. Wear them a lot. In the meantime read about denim here and in other forums, visit denim stores, try on jeans, chat with the sales assistants. Naturally you discover jeans you are interested in.

3. The good thing about dark denim is that it doesn’t stay dark. if they start to fade, buy a new pair if you haven’t already. Continue to wear both of them.

If you are into denim, you will at some point have more jeans than you can wear.

What are some jeans with a roomy top block? (similar to wings + horns jeans, just trying to find out other brands that would work for me).

Also, if anyone knows, are all wings + horns bottoms like that?

I like the fit of Levi's 508 (since I have big thighs but small waist and I like the look of tapered jeans).

But I want to step up the investment for some raw denim and particularly interested in A.P.C. What APC fit is closest to Levi's 508? I tried on PNS and they fit nicely (bit tight in the thighs but I heard they stretch).

thighs won't stretch that much

when people refer to how much apc's stretch, i think they're usually referring to the waist

I was going to get APCs this week but now I'm worried...are these too tight around the thighs?

I've been wearing skinny/slim fit 31's from Levi's, Gap, J Crew, Banana and I've been overall pretty happy.  I know, I know, let the flaming begin.  However, I really want to try a pair of selvedge.  The Gap selvedge premium slim 31/32's I have right now fit really well, but they're obviously not raw selvedge.  I measured these as a base.

Looking at going with Gustin slim.  Based off of their measuring guide, the 31's that I've been wearing are more like 33-33.5".  Based off of the fact that the waist stretches about an inch, I'd want something that is a 32-32.5" waist, which Gustin says 32.5" waste = 32 marked sizing.

What should I do?  5 foot 11, 160lbs.  Do I go with the 32's... which are 1 size up from what I buy off the shelf at most stores?

Will this same logic apply to APC? Unbranded? Rogue Territory? 3sixteen?

Thanks!

thighs do stretch but not like the waist and the knee where they'll stretch a good amount. it just depends on how much you want them to stretch from where they are now.
