Now I've read that being able to button them all the way up new is usually a sign of not having sized down enough. I've also read that if they fit perfectly when new, that they'll just stretch out enormously and it won't work out in the long run.

Are APC's stretching ability largely exaggerated, or should I just get some 27's?

Right now, they were a little tight in the top block, but nothing that really bothered me. They were also a little roomy in the thighs, but that's probably because I'm too short for the taper to really work out?

I would say size down 1 more. Looks like you have a lot of room in the thigh so you could probably manage it.

Thanks for the replies, guys.

So I ended up sizing down two to a 26 actually:

And I did try on a 27, but I didn't really pay much attention since it was hot in San Francisco (and I wanted to get out of the store quickly) and I instantly dismissed them since I was able to button them all the way up (I don't know why I was so bent on not being able to button them up; is this even a thing? i.e. not being able to button them up = you having sized correctly?).

So I ended up with the 26, and as you can see, I can only button up the first two. The thighs are also super tight and I feel restricted. It's also riding up my crotch uncomfortably.

Now I'm hesitant about keeping them because:

- Do APC's really stretch that much? I'm kind of regretting the 26's and thinking that I'll go with the 27's, but at the same time, I'm a total newbie, so what would I know?

- I was actually planning on starting weight lifting this summer (as you can see by the SS book, lol). I'm not trying to get big at all (just slight definition), but will my calves and thighs become too big for the pants (since they're already skin-tight as is)?

God, I feel like such a dick to the store for trying on all these fresh pairs just to find out that they're not working out. frown.gif

hm, i feel like you've overcomplicated this process. the most important thing to do is figure out what fit you want. if you want super skinny jeans, then you're going to have to suffer through breaking in the APCs bc they will stretch. like people have said, they stretch 1-2 sizes. From the pics, it looks like those are way too small and seem like it's going to be really uncomfortable. i dont know if they can stretch that much so that you can button the top two buttons or if you're even willing to suffer through that.  i think somebody also recommended the new cures and i think that might be the way to go if you want skinny jeans. you'll be able to buy the right waist size while still having a skinny cut.

if you dont want super skinny jeans and just prefer them slim, you should probably get the 27s in the PS. they'll be snug and then will loosen up to a slim after wearing them for a bit.

yeah, i definitely overcomplicate things (i've got a lot of obsessive-compulsive tendencies; i once went through a super germaphobe phase where i was washing my hands 14 times after i took dumps, for instance)

anyway, this is the kind of fit i'm going for (popular picture, i know lol):

my 26's aren't ever gonna stretch into a fit like that, right?
masshi you need a 25 for that

your alternative would then be 26 in new standard, or stick with 27 in PS and be prepared to wear a belt cos after a week or two the waist is going to stretch out at least 1 inch..

thats pretty slim. the 26s might actually be what you need to get this after that much wear OR if the 27s also fit pretty snug throughout, then that could be a way to go but you'll need a belt probably. it seems like maybe the PS cut isnt what is best for you to get this fit w/o making your life a living hell while you try to break in the jeans. if you're in SF, why dont you check out other brands in that $200 range like 3sixteen? you could try the 3sixteen ST-100X in a size 28 at self edge. you could also try Tellason Ladbroke Grove in size 28 and i believe AB Fits has rogue territory in stock and they may have their SK fit which is a pretty skinny cut.

i'm really set on ps, so i guess i'm gonna go with the 27

and even if the waist stretches, my 28's from a few posts back were actually snug on the waist, anyway

thanks for the help, bro

is the fit in that picture really that tight?

i swear i can see room in the thigh, but i guess that's b/c it's been stretched out already (or maybe there isn't room at all and i'm seeing things)?

anyway, i've already got the money invested in the 26's at Azalea (who don't offer refunds), so it's gonna have to be the 27's

i've also put too much time into reading up on them to just change now :P

there is no room in the thigh what your seeing is creasing you also don't count room when you get to the thigh to knee area. because on most people their lower leg area is always slimmer than their upper thigh so its going to have room there.

that is a skin tight fit you can tell by looking at his combs and where his back pockets are placed.

Looking for more of a straight jean, but not really. would apc's be the way to go?

Anyone have experience with either of these? i.e how to size? Do they have a narrow leg opening?

Bump! Really interested in these...

In addition to these questions, anyone know the cheapest place to pick up a pair of these (if they're worth it)?

as far as i know, wings and horn uses a 13.5 cone mills denim and are decent jeans. their slim fits are pretty aggressively slim. at full price, 3sixteen is a much better jean IMO but for 100, the wings and horns are not a bad deal at all....

Not sure about the specific models there, but I have an old pair of the snakes in 30. They are TTS at the waist; no vanity sizing from them. The leg opening is quite narrow, definitely a very slim fit jean but they manage to have just enough slack that it's never uncomfortable. They faded very well w/ honeycombs and stacks (slightly tapered from knee i think)
