Roping on hems is due to the cotton thread shrinkage, not the denim shrinkage- correct?

Would appreciate a jean recommendation.

Going to need to buy myself a new pair of jeans for the summer. My fave pair of APC NS is kinda starting to fall apart and while I do like my Skull 5010's, the cut is a bit too slim for my tastes.

So looking for with a cut similiar to the APC NS, but with heavier and better denim. Preferably with an unadorned backpocket, but that's not a dealbreaker as I can always take out the stitches myself if needed.

Price should be somewhere under 250$ or 22000Y, as I do have a friend currently in japan who could send me jeans from there.

there's a ton choices in Japan, so you need to be a bit more specific on what you want ... eg, are you looking for slow or fast/easy fade, denim weight, more to less to no slub, etc.

Skull 5507xx 6x6 have more room [if you want to stay w/ their esthetics].... 45RPM Sorahiko ['98 cut], Fullcount 1108, Kapital Cisco, Oni "Blue", Warehouse 660, Samurai, Denime 66xx or Tokyo or Kyoto [if he/she can get his/her hands on them cuz they're very ltd prod'n and exclusively available in their respective cities].... and the list goes on.

actually, both ... however, additional amount of puckering is induced when the tension [of the under thread] is tweaked tighter. some can and will argue, but i'm basing from personal experience, period.

the seller put "... no e LVC" on the title description ... so, no they're not... they're not even selvedged.

Have anyone heard of Jacob Cohen? its an Italian denim brand which according to a Swedish magazine seems to be quite great. Though before I settle for buying one I would want to hear if any of you guys have heard of them, what do you think about them if you have a pair? they are quite expensive so it would be nice to hear more about them!

Looking at the measurements on farinelli's, it looks like the slim guy has a lower rise than apc new standard.
In all other aspects though, it's roomier. How does this weigh out? If I'm looking for something that doesn't hug my junk as tightly as the apc ns, is an equally sized slim guy out of the question?
By the way, I wear a 31 in apc ns, and am considering a 32 slim guy 21oz...

How easy is it to taper/make smaller a pair of denim, specifically a pair of Nudies.

Long story short, bought a pair of their regular ralfs TTS (my first pair of Nudies in a different cut were TTS and fit great) and they're a tad too big. I'm also not a fan of the flare of the bootcut. Basically, I'd like to tone down the flar and perhaps see if they can be tailored to fit better. Hoping to get some opinions from those who have tried such a thing. Did a search through this thread and used the search function...but didn't seem to find an answer (or my search skills blow).

Is this going to be relatively successful (I got the name of a local tailor in my area from another thread I posted) or are my chances of success slim and should I try to sell them? It's a shame, I really like this pair of denim and don't really want to part with it...but the fit just wasn't what I was looking for.

Basically something like a medium to dark grey jean in a slim but not skinny fit (slightly tapered is fine) with a medium to high rise.

What about the 3sixteen SL-300?

http://shop.3sixteen.com/collections...raw-grey-denim

Measurements should be very similar, if not identical, to its indigo cousin:

I don't know how it looks IRL, but 3sixteens are, in general, great jeans for a relatively good price (i.e. they have construction/fabric/hardwear usually found on jeans twice the price).

EDIT: Those 3sixteen SL-300 also come in a slim fit, and both I think are nonselvedge, if that matters to you.

A couple of questions about Nudies.

1. Is it still possible to find Straight Sven anymore? I don't see it on their website; I'm hoping they haven't been discontinued.

2. How does the Slacker Jack compare to the Straight Sven and Slim Jim? I can't find them locally anywhere to try them on. I want something slightly looser than the Slim Jim.
