I have a jean...(The Ultimate Jean Thread For Beginners) - ask questions here. - Page 1269

Hey, new to Raw denim (this is my first pair), could use some advice.  I tried on a pair of size 30 Baldwin Henleys in a store and they fit nicely.  Looking to save a few bucks, I kept my eyes on ebay and found a size 29, which I bought, figuring they would probably stretch out to fit like the 30's from the store.

I just got them and the waist is much too big and the legs are too tight (they are pretty much skin tight).  The waist measures to about 17" when laid flat on the floor.  My true waist is about a 31.

The seller told me that they normally wear size 29 or 30 waist size and that these fit their waist great.  Also, they said these have been worn about 10 times.  I tried returning them and they refuse.

So my questions are:  does it sound like this person exceedingly stretched the waist?  I suppose I could get by with a belt, but I'd rather they actually fit like they are supposed to.  Do you think that the legs will stretch out at all (could I soak and stretch them?)  Could I try to shrink just the waist by dipping a few inches in hot water?

Jeans aren't supposed to be this much of a pain in the ass.

Thanks in advance!

Hope I gave a good enough explanation as to what I am lookin for.

Oh and I'm a 33 to 34 waist in most jeans which means a hem that always ends up to over 7.5

Take a look at the Left Field Chelsea cut.

What is the difference between Fullcount 1108 and 1109? I reckon the latter cut is slimmer, but by how much?

I have a chambray shirt and it looks best with chinos. The thing is that I dont like wearing chinos.

Would a chambray shirt look good with N&F duck selvedge denim? It doesnt look that much like denim and can probably pull it off. Im not a fan of denim on denim look in general.

I think duck looks great with blue or denim. I love it with a denim shirt

RECOMMENDATION FOR JEAN WITH WIDER KNEE

I need a jean with a knee that measures around 10" across. My knee curves more than the typical man's, I guess, because most jeans do not flatter and give this leg area a bit of a womanly profile.

The closest I've seen is the APC rescue that measures 9.75" in 35. I actually want the waist to stretch out to 35", but I understand that APCs stretch out a lot. Sizing down to 33 or 34 has 9.5" knee, but I don't think the knee will stretch out in proportion with the waist.

Any other ideas for a jean with knees close to 10"?

Thank you!

Looking for some jeans that meet the following criteria:

- Mid-rise. My wife says she’s tired of jeans where she can see my butt crack all the time. The downside: I have repurpose the pair I’ve been using at home—where I’m constantly down on the floor with kids, hence the crack issue—for occasions where I will essentially only be standing. These are an old pair of Levi's Hesher. The upside: I get to buy some new jeans. Doesn’t have to be excessively high waisted, well at least not what I consider so, some on here will probably differ on what excessively high rise is. Think 501 type rise, but not low rise.
- Straight or potentially slim straight fit. But no skinnier. I generally find that on many jeans, especially those that veer a little skinnier, it’s often too loose at the waist relative to the thighs.
- Non-redline selvage. Green/Purple/Orange etc. would be fine. Because. Well, just because why not.
- Zip fly preferred, though this is the point I'm most willing to bail on.

Any advice much appreciated.

Just got a pair of 3sixteen ST-100x.
I ordered a 29 and my actual waist is a 30.
They fit great everywhere except I can't button the top button without a lot of effort, will these stretch out enough in the waist for a comfortable fit?

if you can actually button them you will be fine after 10 wears or so

New to raw denim here. Just purchased Naked and Famous Weird Guy in deep indigo. Sized down 1 waist size, but the inseam is 2.25in longer than my typical chino inseam. Should I get them hemmed? If so, to what length? I bought them here, they were worn 4-5 times, should I soak them? I have no idea whether the previous owner soaked them or not.

Also, I have a pair of Nudies that I've been wearing for around 3 weeks now (3-4 wears a week). I have never washed or soaked them, and mistakenly hemmed them true to size (should have done more research, I'm dumb for that). I was just wondering if it's possible for me to see any more stretching on these. They are comfortable, but when I sit I feel a little tightness. I am asking because I love how they fit now and don't want them to change!

One last thing - when I wash the Nudies, I think they will shrink in length. However, since they fit me like a normal pair of jeans now, it's best they don't shrink anymore. Should I just not ever wash them?

Thanks for the help everyone! this is great

You can hem your NF, they wont shrink any noticeable amount...mine didn't. Hem to what ever length you want. And no there us no need for a soak, same goes for the nudies..you shouldn't get much shrinkage. The waist should stretch a lil more since theyre still pretty new.
