In my opinion, the PBJ one wash 005 is a very similar fit - as is the sugar cane sc1947 (aka 2009)

Ok, so I'm a tall slim guy with meaty legs. I usually can't wear any slim cuts, but the A.P.C. New Standard (32") fits me perfectly.

Can anyone recommend similar cuts (jeans or chinos)? Especially with a lower rise, as my legs are quite long.

Bonus: I love the Acne vintage washes, but I can't wear any of them (too slim for my legs), so that would be killer.

I'm thankful for any hints!

So I am about to buy my next pair of raw denim and want to make sure I get the right size as I'm planning on buying unsanforized (which I have never done). I've had sanforized raw denim before, most recently N&F Skinny Guy in size 30 and they were nice and tight in the waist initially and have stretched out perfectly in the last few months. My only complaints are that the inseam is a little too long for my cuff preference and that the leg opening is a little wide. So I figured unsanforized would be the way to go so that the lower leg is better fitted after the pre-soak. So I have narrowed my options down to either:

700

700

And for reference here is the sizing for the Skinny Guys I own (Which have probably stretched out around 1 inch in the waist, which fits almost perfectly, maybe a tiiiiny bit loose. I probably could have done up a 29 in the Skinny Guy with some sucking in haha but the 30 are good enough):

700

So basically I would like to know what size to get in each pair so that they shrink perfectly, keeping in mind that I like a slimmer jean all the way through. Thanks in advance guys. Let me know if you need any more info.

What would be the best way to patch a back pocket hole in LVC 47s? I've got some wallet wear is getting worse, and I'm not sure whether iron ons would work since I wouldn't be able to apply the heat directly if I patched from the inside of the pocket. Any ideas?

Hmmm... answers seem to sparse recently, but I'll give it a shot anyway...

I have a pair of APC PS, love the fit, but want to try something seen as 'nicer' by denim-heads. I bought a pair of 3Sixteen ST, but those are still a looser fit. Any recommendations?

Something along the lines of:

Japan Blue 400-fit
Momotaro Tapered or Skinny Fit (check Blue Owl)
Pure Blue Japan xx0011/13 (not as tapered, but very slim)
Samurai s610lx or s710xx (low or mid rise)
Studio D'Artisan 106

Any of these should give you that superslim-to-tapered look depending on how you size them. Nothing fits exactly like the Petite Standard, but you can find close options.

Have you though about sending an email to the store you're buying them from. Try sending the same question to tate&yoko.

I ordered some Levi's 520s (14.5 oz) because I read that 508s and 520s have a very relaxed thigh.

1000

1000

Thighs so tight it hurts.  Calves too tight as well, but not painful.  The waist is fine out of the box, looser than it appears.  I could easily slide two hands into the waist, and I'm still cutting from a dreamer bulk.

Ordered 31 x 30 and these measured 34.5" at the top.  They're low rise so the vanity might be partially an adjustment for where the pants sit.  After stretch and a bit more cutting, these would be loose at the top even if the legs could be stretched.  Upper thigh measured 12.5 inches across, as pictured.

I guess I'll be returning them, so what are my options?

I want a pair of dark wash tapered jeans that are good value for money and will not transfer indigo.  I'm only interested in selvedge if the dye is stable (probably synthetic).  I don't care about fades.

Please help.  These were meant to hold me over while I start my wardrobe and I desperately need something to wear.

^Lmao. Aren't the extreme taper jeans slim thighs and skinny lower leg? Those jeans look like 11.5 inch thighs. I see ruler bias!

How big are your thighs anyways?

I'd check out the 514 or 513, and 508 if you must have a taper. (The 513 already has like a 14-15 inch leg opening tho.) I have 25 inch thighs myself and I've had good experience with these fits before I made the switch to raw denim.

Nobody recommended that guy Dior MIJ 19 cm? *edit not to the Levi's guy, but the other guy - StockwellDay.

You really oughta consider other cuts because the leg is too narrow for you on these. You can try to size 510/511 so as to have room in the upper block. Or do 513 or something...

Is that not how you measure the upper thigh?  I thought it was the shortest distance from the outside of the leg to just below the crotch seam.

My upper thigh is about 25, so your recommendations are quite handy.  But I think that 508s (taper) and 520s (extreme taper) are supposed to be the same above the knee.  According to my research, one just has a smaller leg opening than the other.  I did try on 508s at JC Penney before ordering these and they were roughly the same tight fit, but since I was trying on the black stretch model (only type they had) I assumed it would be roomier in the regular fabric.  Should've heeded the signs.

Any experience with the 562?  It looks kind of bad in pictures, but the models aren't a good indicator.

Both of you are assuming that the 520 is a skinny fit.  It's not.

I'd be very surprised if the 520 wasn't roomier than the 511 in the thigh.

How do I know if a pair of jeans is rawdenim or not, when it's not pre-distressed?

I am looking for a couple of pairs of new jeans.
  • One pair of plain black jeans and another pair of standard light faded type jeans. Would like to be able to wear them casual and also more dressy type events.
  • I would like them more fitted but not sure about skinny jeans, I dont think I am slim enough for them. I weigh about 90kgs and I am 6 ft tall.
  • I was looking to know some advice on what type of jeans to stay away from and what are the top 5 or 6 brands to stick to in terms of quality and fit.
  • I have a couple of pairs of Replay jeans and Deisel jeans currently. They have both served me well over the years but I am looking for something more fitted and nicer.
  • I would probably pay around £150 - £200 for something that i love.

Anyone?
