I only need to soak my APCs before wear if I want to get them hemmed, correct?

I think most people soak them before they even put them on and THEN get them hemmed. Personally I'd just get em as tight as possible, wear em out to death and then wash em 4-6 months in.. by then they'll have stretched enough for you to wash and not worry about them shrinking too much.

Yeah that's what I meant. But when you say get them as tight as possible, that would imply a soak before I start wearing them.

dont soak apc's before wearing them, they're sanforized so its unnecessary. what thisisbex is referring to (get them as tight as possible) is sizing down, since APC's stretch alot in the waist.

Regarding shrinkage on the inseam; you'll lose about .5" to 1" (maybe more if you tumble dry). My old pair of APC's have been cold machine washed + hang dried like 5 or 6 times (probably more i didn't count) and they lost about an inch.

Don't do that lol

Does anyone have experience with major alterations of their jeans. I have a pair of Rogue Territory Stantons that are a size too big (didn't do my research before I bought them) and I would like to see if I can get them altered to fit better i.e. take in the waist and taper the legs a bit. Anyone have thoughts on this or should I trash them and save for another pair down the road?

Can anyone recommend a pair of Dark Grey Raw Selvedge jeans similar to the fit of APC NS?

APC NS are kinda sliding off my ass when I sit - this probably means the rear rise is too low, and isn't because the waist hasn't stretched out yet?

don't quite understand what you're saying here, but i suspect it's because the waist is too large, because you didn't size down enough, and what's more called me a 'sufu fanboi' or some such when i advised you to go smaller teacha.gif

No.  I can barely button the top button - I could maybe size down one more in the waist due to stretch but it would be too tight in the thighs, but there's no way it's too loose now.

I sized down one, if I sized down three as you suggested there's no way in earth they'd fit over my thighs.

Nudie, Dr. Denim, or Ksubi for quality?

Why do you think its dangerous? drop crotch ? My calfs might rip through those if they're 17.5...sucks cause the Dior by me has been out of stock in MIJ for a while now. When they were in stock the only style they had was black in odd sizes. I like the way the lanvins look with boots on their lookbook though.

Yes. That's my experience with MII, too.

Lower crotch at 8.5" could be ball crushing, although I wonder if MrPorter always has its measurements right. I'm sure it'd be fine, though. Yeah, they do look cool. There's something about them that I like right away. They might be slightly less slouchy than Diors with a lower rise, now that I think about it.

You sure Dior is all sold out in raw MIJs? The SF store has the 17.5 and 19cm cut in MIJ raw indigos, as of last month.

The 17.5s are touch if you run. I do and I literally have to squeeze my leg into them at the bottoms. it's kind of embarrassing if i'm getting changed at a gym or something.

I'll take a trip this weekend, Hopefully they've got a new shipment of stuff in as I haven't seen the raw indigos at dior or barneys in a while. yeah 17's are way too tight for me. 19s are much easier to deal with. I'll stop by and check the lanvins out and post my opinions, especially to see if they crotch hug too much. I do like the cut though, especially in the lanvin e-store seasonal looks with boots. and they're currently 350-380 on farfetch.

Anyone have experience with DenimTherapy in Manhattan? If so, please let me know how their service is. Planning to use them for getting my momotaros hemmed.
