I have a jean...(The Ultimate Jean Thread For Beginners) - ask questions here. - Page 1227

How do I get rid of smell from farting (the smell is a blend of fart and cotton) from raw denims without washing them?

You literally pooped your pants, and you are asking for an alternative to washing them?

Quick question. Just got my first pair of selvage jeans. APC new standards that i bought off ebay. When i received the jean today i noticed they appear to have been hemmed. The inseam is 32, opposed to a 34 which i believe would be standard from the factory (with 32" waist). The hem looks fine on the outside seam (bottom image), but there is a "flap" of denim on the inside seam (top image). The seller offered to take a return, but they actually fit pretty well (i'm a natural 32 inseam), except the leg opening is slightly larger than i anticipated (8.25").

Is this normal for the hem to look like this, or is it the sign of poor workmanship?

I'm looking to buy 2 pairs of jeans relatively soon and am looking for heavier denim in a semi-slim fit with low-rise in raw denim. From what I've seen and read it looks like APC Petit Standards are probably my best bet but I'm wondering if I've missed any other brands I should consider.

I have a pair of Weird Guy Deep Indigo Selvages :) I'm looking for a more tapered fit to the bottom of the leg. Thanks for your help.

canavan, APC's are not heavy at all, they're quit thin imho.

Booshman, You're looking for something roomy in the thigh and more tapered than WG? What size are your WG's? You may just have to alter a pair or jeans. With out knowing what size yours, the type you're looking for sounds like it would be a really weird looking fit. I'm imagining a loose thigh and very skinny calf lol

Not loose loose, just not slim in the thigh. I'm training as a power lifter and my thighs are large (when I say large I do mean large). My Weird Guys are a 33W. My Nudies are a 34W (Grim Tim) and a 32W (Sharp Bengt).

What are some brands that offer thicker denim in low-rise semi-slim raw style?

I couldn't find your original post but have you looked at jeans with a bit of stretch?  Anything with a bit of polyurethane will solve your problem; also a lot of jeans woven in more of a twill fabric (but still 100% cotton) will be stretchy.  For example:

Those might be too tight, I have 23" thighs and the 32 barely fits me, but just as an example.

Hello everyone.

I bouts some dark indigo Levis 505 1967 vintage. They are 32-32 and were very tight when first put on. After wearing them for half an hour they seem to have loosened slightly.

Anyway, do I need to soak these in the bath? They're preshrunk so do the rules of not washing them still apply?

Thanks
