Its also worth nothing that there were some sizing issues with a recent run of Samurai (Lot 10 I think it is), where the jeans were pretty much tagged as measured, so you'd probably need to go up one to accommodate. Anyway, I'd just talk to Gordon at Blue in Green and he should be able to answer any questions you have.

If you're interested in PBJ, don't forget to take a look at the XX-003/XX-006. That cut isn't huge or anything, probably no larger than the S5000 cut.

That said, in a comparison between Samurai and Eternal, if inseam is an issue (i think Eternals are like 32.5" or something) then Samurai is a safe bet.

Yeah, I looked at your post about the thigh:waist ratio, and I've come to the conclusion that you must be more comfortable than most guys with tightness through the thighs. With denim, what's skin-tight to one person is comfortable for another. For example, I like jeans tight enough in the top block and waistband at first that they have to stretch (love horizontal stretch-lines around the front pockets), but others prefer that their jeans slouch halfway down their ass from the get-go.

I dunno, I always find jeans are too tight for me in the calf area, not so much in the thighs. In fact, I've never even tried on a pair of jeans that the thigh was the problem area in. The tightest jean I've ever tried on was NCs sized down two, and they were impossibly tight in the knee and calves, in fact I couldn't even pull them on above that.

IIRC, the general recommendation for 811s is actually to size up one. Someone please correct me if I'm getting them confused with another pair of jeans.

How much can they be expected to stretch? If I get a 34 (which according to BiG measures 33) and I have a 33 waist won't they stretch out too much?

thats how they looked on me as well when i tried them on. same with flathead 3001s...
33 waist gets screwed in the hem size in alot of jeans

i am a 29 in new standards (they stretched out to 32" or so). 31 in most pants.

Should i got for a 30 or 31?

I think you'd want a 30. I'm a 31-32 in most pants, and the size 30 KMWs fit me pretty well in every style I tried at DB (and I tried them all...rocker, 1950, 1980, 2010)

thx. I actually tried on some 1980s in 31 and they were comfortable. if they stretched out like a inch but no more they would be perfect.

Would the 30s stretch out to 32s you think?

I'm not really sure how much they'll stretch, but I think 1 inchi is more likely than two. You might want to take a look through this thread over at the other SF.

Trying to find a first time pair of denim. Looking for something that will fade nice and has a similar top block to Sugar Cane's 1947 but with a little less baggy bottom block.

I have big thighs from soccer/football and anything that is snug on the thingh makes me look very disproportioned.

You're going to have to be more specific. That's like asking "what kind of shirt should I wear?" Doesn't really make sense in that context, does it?
