Doesn't have to be samurai. Would Oni fit the bill here? Samurai is my only venture into the higher end denim so far but I really like them (S710 Black shadow). Could just tweak the fit here and there a bit to really be perfect.

You can try the Samurai S003JP-A:

Hard to say without seeing them. Some denim get an odd streak pattern after a wash; I've seen it happen every now and then and it happened to a pair of Cone Crates I had.

Light streaks sound like indigo was removed so I doubt there's anything you can do at this point.

Hey guys, a couple of questions.  I spilled some Pho on a pair of raw levis, what's the best way to spot clean them?  I've had them for about two months and don't want to wash them yet.

Second question, who makes a good white/off white raw denim for spring around the sub 200 range?

Thanks whodini, I will take a picture when I get home later today and post it here.

NF makes a reverse fade denim, it might be sold out since it was last season I believe. (may have been a few seasons, check the NF Thread)

2.  can anyone recommend a pair of jeans that combined the front and lower rise of nudie big bengt (fits my big ass well - i'm 6'0 185lb.) with the leg shape and similar diameter to the apc rescue?

thanks.

Here's a suggestion:
Dont waste your money on apc or nudie buy a real pair
Like Iron heart or flat head.
For those wearing apc, have you tried any premium denim? It's worth it

Just curious, why dry clean? They use chemicals. Soak and hang works very well.

Iron heart will be coming out with a white denim in there famous and hugely popular 634s cut. It has a coating to keep the white clean, should be amazing

APCs are perfectly fine.  Comments like this are fucking stupid.  The more expensive heavyweight denim is nice for some but frankly a waste of money for a lot of people, especially those that care about fit and not much about having the bestest hand-died denimz ever, and frankly prescriptive posts like the one you just made make you sound like someone who heard about raw denim last week and has probably never handled or owned a pair of APCs.  You can probably do better for the money if quality is a huge deal for you, but I haven't encountered many people who purchased APCs and were unhappy with them.

I tried apc on and they felt like Kmart specials. Flatheads are nowhere near heavy and have great cuts

There is also Sugar Cane, Roy (probably my next pair after my Samuria's), Studio D, PBJ, Momotaro, 3 sixteen, Work's Inc., Dry Bones, The Strike Gold, N&f (The collaborations, their regular denim isn't anything special, although still better than APC in my humble opinion), Skulls and plenty of others that offer 14ish oz options that are not APC. Most of what I have listed cost more yeah (except for the NF*) but the denim quality and cuts are something well worth the initial investment. After all a pair of jeans is much more then your average garment, it ages with you, tells your story through the creases, fades, stains, rips etc. If you are in the market for just a well fitting pair of jeans, that you may or may not want too keep forever, then I say APC and the like will do just fine. I personally don't see a problem with raw Japanese denim that "just about anyone can afford", if anything jeans are what you make 'em. I understand Nerkg's bias it is not completely unfounded, but never the less not everyone wants a "Premium" uber pair of jawns.

No good way to spot clean aside from water and towel. Experience is to leave it be or soak completely. Spot cleaning, depending on type of denim, can end up making things worse by removing too much indigo.

Rogue Territory's coming out with off-white denim for the summer. Not sure on specific dates yet, though. Jean Shop had some great stuff which Crate used a few seasons ago. My advice, assuming you like the fit, would be to look for RRL's slim fit off-white. They're some of my favorites.

Minimal shrinkage? Minimal indigo loss? There are a few reasons why people prefer this route.

i just got my raw denims (unbranded)

theyre great except for a long inseam and bit too baggy around the lower leg, despite being skinny cut

can i get them tailored?

if i get them hemmed will that make it skinnier cut or is that something else i have to tell the tailor? and if yes, whats that called and can i do that?

also whats the rule on tailoring

do i have to soak them before tailoring, not wear it before tailoring or what

thanks

Yes.

No, it won't. You're thinking of a taper.

Doesn't make a huge difference with those jeans, but some prefer to soak first just in case.
