If the former, the following should have similar dimensions, but as we all know, different jeans look different on different folks, regardless of what dimensions are advertised:

3Sixteen ST-200 or ST-220 should be just about right (maybe slightly higher rise)
Naked & Famous Skinny Guy in black power stretch
Spurr slim fit stretch in black
Nudie Slim Jim or Grim Tim in one of their black washes (I don't know which of the two is closer to those dimensions)

Billy Reid 501's are the same price as the Made in America Selvedge 501s on Levi's site. I'm guessing BR's are still the way to go...however... I'm wondering how they compare to LVC's. They're quite a bit cheaper.

There's nothing special about BR's 501s vs Levi's direct other than the BR has a pocket stamp (or did when they were collab.) Levi's routinely does collabs with other brands but I think they're all treated on the same level but still below LVC.

With LVC, depending on the model you're getting period-correct details with each model: fit, buttons, and type of denim.

Is one better than the other? On paper, LVC will be better but through wear and tear I don't think you'd notice much of a difference.

Is there a lower rise version of the Samurai S710? Or one slightly more tapered toward the boot. They fit great through the butt and thigh for me but I might like a lower rise in my next pair.

Doesn't have to be samurai. Would Oni fit the bill here? Samurai is my only venture into the higher end denim so far but I really like them (S710 Black shadow). Could just tweak the fit here and there a bit to really be perfect.

I haven't seen the new Oni low rise tapered jeans in person, but from the measurement chart at BiG, it looks like they will fit what you are looking for in terms being lower rise and more tapered than the S710. It looks like they may be looser in the thigh than the S710, though, not sure if that will be a problem for you.

The Oni x N&F Weird Guy collab will also fit what you are looking for in terms of having a lower rise and more tapered leg than the S710. I do have a pair of these, and I would say that they also fit similarly in the thigh to the S710.

Thanks for the info! Looser in the thighs is welcome. When I'm ready to pull the trigger I'll probably just go to BiG and try them on first since it's just a couple train rides away. Worth it when spending so much I suppose.

I have a pair of weird guys in grey that fit me well but obviously they are much much thinner and lighter than my sams. I'll also look into the collab as that sounds like it could be a possibility.

a few questions:

 

1.  i tried on a pair of apc rescues today which i really loved except that they gave me a slight wedgie.  is this something that would become less of a problem as the denim stretches?

 

2.  can anyone recommend a pair of jeans that combined the front and lower rise of nudie big bengt (fits my big ass well - i'm 6'0 185lb.) with the leg shape and similar diameter to the apc rescue?

I'm 6' 3" 215lbs looking for something with a straight leg that doesn't look like it was stitched together from 2 smaller pairs of jeans. They carry Nudie jeans in this village, but not much else available as far as designer. Not even much selection for Levi if you can believe it. Barring Nudie and brand suggestions for ordering? JCrew?? Don't want to go crazy with price $200 or less max.

I honestly started at the beginning of this thread.... but my lord it's HUGE

Never mind.... The Nudie jeans are a great fit and the Levis selvage were nice too smile.gif

You want a slightly snug fit from the start in the top block, something that's almost right if given .25"-.5" here and there. Sometimes even when you have a feel for this, it could still be a gamble as to how the jeans will settle after a few weeks. If you've sized down correctly and haven't had this problem with other jeans in the past, it might be a problem with the cut. Personal experience says that if the jeans just don't feel right from the get-go then it tends to be a sign of things to come. It may sound overly cautious and YMMV but I'm sure I'm not the only one on here who has a pair collecting dust in the closet because that little nitpick that I figured would have gone away didn't.

You've got very specific measurements in mind and luckily there are affiliates and other sites with measurements online. Most, except Blue in Green, don't give back measurements but I'm sure can google them or email the retailer for them directly. My gut says that the kind of fit you're looking for shouldn't be hard to find among repro brands like Sugar Cane, Studio D'Artisan, etc. Specifically, maybe something like a Sugar Cane Hawaii or SDA 101. LVC would probably be another option but you would have to hunt down which specific model (year) works best for you.

Looking for something slightly slimmer than the Uniqlo T-000s but not raws (would go with PS were that the case). Think the Acne Hex in PS size work out well, or should I look at some of the slimmer DRKSHDW cuts?

I believe Self Edge is nice enough to provide measurements on most if not all of their jeans. They have some more "mainstream" lines like Nudie and 3Sixteen (I know it's relatively uncommon, but once Barney's picks it up, it's mainstream as far as I'm concerned) and then some more of the artisan denim brands that many here are attracted to.

naked and famous regular guys is like you described (higher rise and I assume fuller leg like the rescues), I'm the same weight and 1 inch taller than you and I ordered a size 33 in them

it's the cheapest option in this fit you described other than a repro brand like the other guy mentioned

They don't give a back rise measurement, though, that's what whodini was referring to.

So I just picked up my LVC 505's from the dry cleaners and there is this weird discoloration all over the jean. The jean now has streaks of lighter blue. They are still a dark indigo and havent faded much. I cant tell if it's lint or the actually jean. Is there anything I can do?
