I have a jean...(The Ultimate Jean Thread For Beginners) - ask questions here. - Page 1177

Anyone have any suggestions for a black jean similar in fit to Acne Max Cash jeans? i.e. for a size 30 it would be 10 thigh, 7.5 knee, 7 leg opening

APC new cures arrived in the post today. Fit in the waist but skin tight in the thigh to the point where I would find it difficult to bend my knees. Should I try and break these in or return?

^ They won't stretch much in the thigh, if at all, so if you don't like the fit now send them back.  You don't have them pulled up too high do you?  Otherwise it's probably not the cut for you.  Mine are borderline too tight if I wear them 'normally' but I sag them an inch or so and they fit the way I'd like.

Return. Waist stretches, thighs don't. Not sure if you're into jeggings.

The non-shrinks? No. That's why they're NOT shrink-to-fits.

Anybody else with a suggestion?

any suggestions on selvedge denim that fits similar to levis 521/508? thanks in advance

I searched the topic for "Reid" and only got three posts :/

Billy Reid 501's are the same price as the Made in America Selvedge 501s on Levi's site. I'm guessing BR's are still the way to go...however... I'm wondering how they compare to LVC's. They're quite a bit cheaper.

El Arg - They have them here, but I can never find them in 35. I always find the colors in my size, just not the raw STF's.

Vegas had a full size run - ask your store to call around.

Yes - as mentioned above, they are Made in Mexico selvage, Shrink-to-fit. Run 118 or so as opposed to the USA versions. (Not sure if that markup really means anything beyond the label, but...)

Got a pair of RRL Low Straights in yesterday. The eBay seller said that they were 33 in the waist, but they actually turned out to be 34.5. baldy[1].gif They fit everywhere else.

My question is how much shrinkage to expect in the waist with RRL denim? I'd hot soak them. This is the slightly heavy RRL "Blue Hill" denim. (Definitely over 14 oz)

Maybe I could just get the waist taken in too.

If they don't shrink, I might be willing to work out a deal with you...

So I got my Tellason's back from the tailor and I don't know what measurements they went off of but they didn't hem to the length we decided on, still way too long. I don't know what happened but when I initially tried the jeans before purchasing them they were nice, got them hemmed and then did a presoak in hopes of shrinking them a bit. After all is said and done, I do not like the fit of the jeans. They are sized a size down than I normally wear and they still feel too baggy. I keep wearing them in hopes they grow on me but I feel right now that I screwed myself. Oh well lesson learned.

Are you looking for any black jean that has those dimensions, or something similar in appearance to the Cash wash (which had an almost waxy look, if I recall)?

If the former, the following should have similar dimensions, but as we all know, different jeans look different on different folks, regardless of what dimensions are advertised:

3Sixteen ST-200 or ST-220 should be just about right (maybe slightly higher rise)
Naked & Famous Skinny Guy in black power stretch
Spurr slim fit stretch in black
Nudie Slim Jim or Grim Tim in one of their black washes (I don't know which of the two is closer to those dimensions)
Rag & Bone RB23X in black

So, quick questions for those who cuff...

Do you guys wait for the jeans to get worn in before you cuff them? Because I started cuffing mine and realizing now that a crease has begun to form. I am now leaving them uncuffed when I don't wear them, but curious if maybe I should stack them for now and then cuff once they are a bit softer so a permanent crease doesn't form? Unless a crease forming is inevitable and I should just decide whether I want to cuff or stack?

What do you guys suggest?

Cuff or stacking style is really up to you. However if you like cuffing, sharp creases are inevitable and wear out easily.
