Is there a pair of APC's or something in the <$200 price range that has a similar taper as the weird guys, but a bit bigger in the rise/thighs. I hear APC's stretch quite a bit.
If they're skintight, forget about size. You need to look at other cuts. If you're stuck on APCs, try looking at Rescues. You can google for measurements and see how they compare.

Thanks, sir.

So you're just looking for an overdyed slim pair? Can't think of too many overdyed pairs. Rogue Territory/Roy/Tellason used that broken twill canvas pretty recently.

Thanks!
I'm typically not a fan of buying the same pair of jeans twice, but if the fit works for you, why not just have the legs tapered by a tailor? There are just a lot of jeans on big's/SE's site with that kind of description. I personally love Strike Gold (you can check out the SG1109) but I realize the denim isn't everyone's cup of tea.

And if I'm not stuck on APC's? What alternatives would you recommend?

N&F makes a deep indigo model, they call it the indigo/indigo slub, and they offer it in the Weird Guy cut. It's more tapered than the 011, but it still lets you get away from slim straights.

Momotaro has 2 similar denims that they use as well, the Grand Indigo and the Deep Indigo. Both have black wefts, not indigo wefts, so they won't be the exact same color as PBJ's deep indigo denim, but they both have a fairly similar appearance to PBJ's deep indigo denim. The cut is a little less tapered than the PBJ 011, but they might be worth checking out for you.

I know that 3sixteen has that Shadow denim with the black weft, and that will have a similar appearance to the PBJ deep indigo denim as well, but I haven't been following that brand much lately and don't know if the cut would be what you are looking for.

Alright denim nerds... Just kidding, please don´t tell me to fuck off  peepwall[1].gif

What would you recommend between Balmain jeans or Dior homme ones? I know my next pair is in either of those brands, I just can´t decide on one. What can you tell me about them?

Thanks in advance.

I think a lot of denim heads are going to tell you that both of those brands are for morons, but Dior 19cm is a great cut, while I've rarely heard anything good about Balmain jeans, so I'd say the Diors hands down.  I think Balmain commands the prices they do mostly through marketing and celebrity hype, but it's a brand i kinda ignore so maybe somebody else will have a different opinion.  There's two types of denim that Dior uses, made in Japan and made in Italy, and the MIJ is generally considered to be superior, but it's also more expensive - I think MII raws are $236 while MIJ are $380 or so.  A lot of their washed jeans are MII.  The quality isn't anything special, though, most of them aren't selvedge and the construction's probably roughly on par with jeans more in the $200 range, so you're paying for the cut.

Honestly, check out Balenciaga as well.  The cut's almost identical - 1 cm narrower leg opening and 36" inseam instead of ~39" of the DH's, but they look very, very similar.  The quality's also a little better, and a lot of the models have the selvedge line on the waistband which looks pretty cool, imo.  $475 retail, but I picked up both pairs that I have for well under 50% of that.  PM me if you want sizing help or anything.  If you're willing to pay full price for them just call the store, they're really knowledgeable about sizing and will ship to you (not sure if they'll do international though).

When it comes to sizing, I´ve never had any problem buying online. All the jeans I´ve bought from LVR or Mr. Porter fit great. So whatever I chose, I was probably gonna buy from there. What i was most interested was in the quality and fit department. I´ve read a lot that Diors are supposed to be the best pair one  can buy, but had to find out how true that was. Balmain was an option because I liked the biker look on most of their jeans. I know how expensive they can be, but I´ve found pairs under $600 in some online stores. But Diors have been on my radar for a while, so I´ll check those out. I´ll take a look at balenciagas as well, if you say they´re a bit better, it´s worth the try.

Thanks for the info fing02[1].gif. I wear mostly nothing but jeans, yet my knowledge on the subject is limited.

Cool, well somebody else can probably give you more info on the quality as I wouldn't consider myself an expert in that area, but none of those brands are really going to compare to the Self Edge/Blue Owl type stuff in that department.  You're paying a heavy premium for the cut and treatment/wash.

And by calling this "my thread" you're severely discounting the good help of quite a few others on here that have been repeatedly thanked by many others.
Frankly, I don't know why you're so obsessed with me. Would you kindly fuck off so I can go back to answering questions on this thread?

buddy... addressing you in a few posts isn't an obsession, and i simply pointed out that you act like this is "your thread"

anyway, like i said, just calm down.

I'd agree with KingJulien here. I've handled the Diors before, and while I would say that they are well-made, I wouldn't put their construction quality at the same level as most of the Japanese brands carried at Self Edge, Blue in Green, Tate + Yoko, or Blue Owl. With Dior's price tag, a lot of what you are paying for is the cut and the name.

Does anyone have any experience with Big John denim? A store nearby recently got some in and I am wondering how well they compare with other Japanese denim brands. I haven't been able to find a lot of information about them on the net other than a few blog posts with little information, so that is why I am asking here.

Whodini - I can't seem to find Jean Shop products in the UK other than on Mr Porter, and they only have black selvage denim - no overdyed. Mr Porter do also have a pair of acne overdyed jeans - but the 28/32 has a waist of 30" which is to big for me. I have measured a pair of 28/32 jeans by Levi's that fit well - and the waist was 29".

I know the small waist will cause problems when looking for jeans - but the APC jeans I posted seem to be unisex as they go down to size 24. I might email APC asking for measurements & more details on the denim - They look similar to the other overdyed APC's posted on the last page and cost more than the other petit standards so they might be overdyed too.

Do you know of any other brands that fit small waists?

Thanks for your help

Dude, even if off all the posts Whodini has done here on SF, only 7 were contributable... Then still, you are not the one who tells guys like him to calm down.

This guy knows his shit, he just shares knowledge here. For everyone who doesn't like or can't handle it, just put him on your ignore list, don't read his posts or stay away from every thread he posts in. It really is that simple.

What's a good place to send my jeans to be hemmed? I just bought a new pair of Naked & Famous (another pair of indigo, and I have a second pair of greencast broken twill on the way from Blue Owl), and I like to cuff my jeans, but I'm more of a 30 inseam as opposed to 34.5, and cuffing that much might be overkill? Granted, that's what I did with my now decommissioned pair of N&F.

Blue Owl does Chain stitching too - and I believe it's free for products purchased from them.
