I have a jean...(The Ultimate Jean Thread For Beginners) - ask questions here. - Page 1104

so after one of my friends picked up a pair of selvedge naked & famous weird guy jeans I have been looking for my first real unique and quality pair of jeans, but was not trying to break the bank ($50-$150)...Normally I wear straight leg, dark wash Polo RL or Levi's and recently I have been interested in the "raw" and selvedge denim look...I saw a pair of Unbranded denim on urban outfitters for $78, but was wondering if it would make more sense to spend some extra money on a better pair.. (I do like True Religion,N&F, and RL) but would anyone have some suggestions or recommendations on denim for me?

Dark Raw Big Johns that are on sale @ Barneys look good and slubby. Probably better ones than the one used for NF collab. Curious why Barneys did not label it as Made in Japan but instead of imported

Not familiar with that model, but it looks good. Any idea on how to size for those?

Well since the "KoiAi" color is overseas only model it does not show on the BJ official website.

They have 5 fits, and I am thinking Barneys one is either Cone (straight) or Straw (skinny) fit.

Cone is 3 inch bigger in the waist and Straw is 1 inch bigger... so yeah... its a big jump shog[1].gif

Hi guys,

Kinda new to this forum; I'm 6'6 and got 33/36 on washed nudies (so no dry ones) and they fit me perfectly: GrimT,SlimJ and ThinnF.

I'm now thinking of buying a pair of dry jeans, but that ain't gonna work with nudies since they only go to inseam 36.

Don't really know what brand and size to take, i guess 33/38? But it would be even beter if I got an inseam of 39/40 or something.

Since I'm a student I don't wanna pay too much for jeans, else I would have bought the SExDBxSxS12 instantly. I've seen some jeans on context that interest me: the Japan Blue by Momotaro (http://www.contextclothing.com/item.php?id=2305). I don't really know if they're that great though, does any1 have experiences with these jeans? And they're at the max of my budget (around 200$). Also, does any1 know if theres a possibility for context to put these in the sale?

Any other suggestions for better or cheaper dry jeans for a tall guy like me would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Edit: what about these Naked & Famous ones (http://www.revolveclothing.com/DisplayProduct.jsp?product=NAKE-MJ19&AID=10568535&PID=2183907)? They are only 37.5 on the inseam though. Afraid they might shrink too much.

In the pics, those don't look like a skinny fit, so if I had to guess between the two, I would guess that these are the Cone.

Am I correct in assuming that they are sanforized?

Japan Blue Momotaros are among the best that you will find in that price range, you wouldn't go wrong with them. I have not ever seen Context put any Momotaro jeans on sale before, so I doubt that they will with these.

Naked & Famous makes a good jean in its price range. I would say that the construction quality on the Japan Blue Momotaro is better though. Those N&F should shrink less than an inch in length, the raw denim they use is sanforized (pre-shrunk).

Anyone know where I can find some good quality, dark skinny jeans that have waist 28 or lower?  I'm really skinny and can fit in a 26 waist.

You might want to get measurements for your size and compare them to brands online. It sounds like you kinda want an apc ns fit, though.

Don't waste your time with unbranded, gap, or other similarly-priced alternatives. Paying retail for crap like unbranded doesn't make sense when you can find better jeans on sale for $20-50 more.

I've noticed that Barney's is fairly retarded in terms of knowing when it matters where something's made. You'd think they'd know that MIJ is the best for raw denim.

Yeah when I told my buddy about the Unbranded jeans he said heard from a few places that they were kind of cheap or crappy...Also I didnt like the tag on the back and it looks like its awkwardly stitched on. good looks whodini..

Thanks for the rec, Whodini. Measurement-wise, those do indeed sound about right. I'll have to swing by Barney's and try some on.
