^^^^brah, as long as they're not crushing your balls they're not too tight, and I say that in seriousness.   I have thick thighs too (24" as well) - from years of sports and lifting, etc.  I got my first 'real' selvage  jean (Naked and Famous Weird Guy) about a month ago.  Like you, I thought they were too tight for about the first week.  After that period they begun to stretch in the thigh quite a great deal, leaving me with a perfect fitting jean.    They stretch out more than just the circumference of your thighs, leaving you with a great fit. 

I can tell from looking at the pic that the fit is right.  Give it a good 10 wears, and you'll be thinking they're perfect.  I'd probably hem an inch or two off the legs, but that's personal preference.

Hmmm alright, I'll try to break them in around the house at least to the point where I can get them up all the way.  I'm just concerned about not being able to return them.

From looking at the pics, you definitely don't need them sitting any higher, and if anything they could be worn a little lower.  You don't want to grundy yourself in these since they're a lower rise fit. 

The more you bend, walk, sit, etc...in them, the quicker they'll stretch and conform to your measurements.  Wear 'em whenever you can get away with it and in 1-2 weeks you'll be pleased. 

Boot tuck into Clarks will look terrible every time.
