The Momotaro 0705 is nice, but I can only find the GTB version and the white stripes aren't something I want. The Flat Head's look good aswell but they are a little expensive, and they fade really nicely. Another pair that caught my eye are the Imperial Dukes. Sugar Cane's 2009 could be an option because of the looser weave which makes it more suitable for Brisbane summers, but it's out of stock at the moment.

I have no idea how these pairs stack up against each other, would love someone more experienced to help me choose!

have you considered 3sixteen?
looking at the ST as my next denim purchase.
I have 2 pair of the SC 2009 (aka 1947 II) and love them. Dunno bout fades with these.... haven't had them very long.

there is a 3sixteen thread going on around here somewhere....
http://www.styleforum.net/showthread...light=3sixteen

I also am a fan of the Epaulet Smith EP........dunno how much love they receive around here. I really like the fit.

With your waist / height, you should have no problem finding something pop up on the B&S forum.

There is a version of the Momotaro 705 that has the white stripes only on the leather patch and not all over the back pocket. Look here: http://blueingreensoho.com/site/inde...mart&Itemid=62

All of the brands that you named are pretty comparable in quality. The Sugar Cane 2009, AFAIK, was a limited model that was only available in 2009 and probably won't be back.

3sixteen and Epaulet are good brands, but it should probably be noted that they are generally considered a step down in quality and features compared to the brands that Naka was originally considering and comparing. On the plus side, they are a step down in price as well.

Oh I must have missed that one! I don't think I'll be purchasing anything cheaper than these as ultimately quality is what I'm looking for. Any opinions on how these fade compared to APC's/Nudies? A few people have Nudies and kSubi's but they cost as much as the Momo's when you buy them retail over here

Jeans with a 2% stretch in them will retain their original size better than regular denim I'm assuming. As in, they may stretch temporarily when worn but they won't stretch permanently. They'll look tighter as a result? And waxed denim also won't stretch as much as regular?

They can work fine, I've just always preferred cream-colored ones. I forget where I saw it but there was some Japanese denim company where one of the guys wore in white jeans and treated them like regular jeans; I kind of like that train of thought if you're wearing them as jeans and not white trousers.

Don't waste your time with those other brands you've mentioned. I will personally kick your ass if you end up buying ksubis for the price of a brand like momo. Momotaros: http://denimdebate.com/2010/09/momot...hs-in-retired/

Yes, not necessarily because eventually they will wear out much like a rubber band does, they'll retain their shape more than regular jeans but I don't know about looking "tighter," and I'm not sure why you'd think waxed denim wouldn't stretch out as much since it's just wax.

Depends if you think it's too tight. They look ok.

Did my best to Google/search the site/search other places before asking and what I mentioned showed up frequently (although in mostly older posts that I found). Thanks for the heads up.

Alright, I'll just have to wait till my size gets restocked. If anyone has some 0705's they want to sell in a 31 shoot me a PM.

Thanks for everyone's help!

Oh! And you could go half a size smaller mate!

I really want to get either APC new standards or 3ixteens, but I don't know what size to get. My size in Levi's 511 (the selvedge ones) is 34. size 33 is quite tight! so if I'm a size 34 in levis 511 should I get the same in the APC / 3ixteen?
