I wear jeans maybe 2-4 times per month. Strictly Levi's at the moment (the $60 dept store line or w/e).

Is it possible to buy a "decent" pair of dark slim (but not tight) fitting jeans with no design on the pockets for under $100? I am really opposed to pocket design of any kind.

These would be worn on weekends casually or on the occasional Friday at the office. I am of average size/build - if measurements would help just let me know. I don't even know the terminology associated with jeans so if my question lacks sufficient detail feel free to demand more info.

Thanks
Yes, especially if you pick something up on sale.

If you know your measurements pretty well you'll probably get the best deal by keeping an eye on the SW&D B&S, or maybe look for RRL on ebay. Quality will be way better, though you won't get to try stuff on.

Thanks. I'm going to admit my initial question was vague and stupid and probably just go back to wearing trousers and chinos

The world of denim is quite daunting.

Don't give up on denim! I think it's a valid question. Also, another place you can check out is Club Monaco. They always seem to have denim on sale for less than $100.

I agree! Don't give up on denim! buutt please don't get clubs raw denim, you could really find something a lot nicer for that price, on sale or not. unbrandeds quality is a lot better than that and i think they run for 80 or so.. make sure to look around, see where the denim is from and where its made. Im pretty sure clubs raws are cone denim made in mexico... not really the scene for quality stuff. i love club monaco's cloths especially their chinos, but for denim you could find something a loooot better.

Yea.. made in China is so much better than Mexico. Besides cheap fly buttons that fall off is what makes Unbranded stand out from the rest...That my friend is quality

Hope this this the right area to ask. I am searching for Levi Black #596 Relaxed Straight jeans. I have searched google but cannot find them. I have emailed Levi but I am waiting for a response. The closest I have come is finding an archived thread on styleforum from 2006 titled "how is the Levi's raw denim" "Nick M March 21st, 2006, 11:25 PM Anyone know anything about Levi's Black Label? Straight leg, non-selvage rigid denim, all black leather label on the back, seen at a couple of local hipster stores. Just curious, not really intending to buy." He also added two pictures: http://img229.imageshack.us/img229/5131/lb010se.jpg http://img71.imageshack.us/img71/1453/lb020io.jpg Would love to find more so any help you can offer would be great. Thanks in advance!

anyone know of a good pair of raw denim that has a similar fit to the rb15(slim straight with normal rise) by rag and bone?

went to the levi store yesterday. I was looking at their 527s. There were two on the same rack, 527 & 527 X, with tags declaring them rigid. Then there was a different 527 on another rack; different in colour and feel. It was stiffer than the other ones. It felt not entirely unlike their STFs. These were also marked rigid, I believe.

Basically, I figured the last kind was rigid based in part on its feel, but then why don't the others feel that way? And if they aren't really rigid, why say so?

Don't read into "rigid." While some companies use it to describe jeans that are unwashed, many just use it as a visual descriptor, ie, rigid scraped, rigid rinsed, etc.
That's weird.

I guess it's possible they went from using it for image to actually referring to unwashed in the newer stuff. Might be why they're on sale. Of course, the tag (on the sale-jeans) also mentioned special care.

I guess I'll just ask if it's really rigid lol.

Edit: didn't mean to be rude but i forgot to say thanks for the advice.

Hey guys.

I'm looking for my first pair of raw denim, and reading half of this thread hasn't really helped me. I'm 6 feet tall, weigh around 145 lbs, and my waist measurement is 31".

I'm looking for a mid rise, slim-straight fit. My current pairs of jeans are all Uniqlo, with one Uniqlo selvedge but I've lost some weight recently and the are all a bit baggy.

I'd really like some high-contrast fades, and I'm trying to keep it under $300. Trying jeans on is an issue for me as I live in Australia, and there was a local stockist for Imperial Jeans but due to the flooding earlier this year they've closed for an indeterminate amount of time.

Any ideas?

About a million. Take a look at our affiliates listed at the top of the page and go through their denim inventory. When you find a couple that catch your eye, come back and we'll help from there.
