Depends on how you want it to fit. Diors can be sized anywhere from true to -2 (3 if you're shapelessly skinny) depending on how slim you want them (basically super skinny, skinny, or slouched slim) and iirc only stretch 1-2" (don't quote me, haven't researched MIJ raws in a while)

In terms of quality/fit, how do Dior jeans compare to APC jeans. In particular the pre-washed denim?

Couldn't tell you about the fit, but I'd say the Diors are better constructed and have far nicer washes.

APC jeans aren't the greatest denim to compare to.. They're popular cuz of the cuts and the way they fade not necessarily the quality. Dior (MIJ) are good quality and they better be for the price lol, but im not too sure about the prewashed stuff. In terms of cuts they are pretty similar just apc (specifically PS) are waay more tapered than the 19cm. again can't say too much about the prewashed stuff

What's the best way to repair the beginnings of a crotch blowout? Just patch it? I patched my last pair but it just kept getting bigger.

You could reinforce it with a piece of denim from the back and then run stitches throughout. To stop it, just use a lockstitch and pretty much back-and-forth it over the affected area

I have SPURR Pipes that I really like. I love the cut and the denim. Leg opening is 7".

I believe it's also a variety with particularly long fibers, which gives a distinctively smooth hand to the fabric.

This will be my first pair of raw and I'm looking for something slim but not "tight-with-no-room" top to bottom for someone with my waist of 33", thighs of 10.75" and knees of 7.25". I did fine with Levi 511's until they shrunk too much in the thigh. Haven't seen anyone talk about Tellason much at all, so I thought i'd ask here. Thanks.

haha man first off gotta say i love your name:P and about the jeans man, you couldn't have picked any better 2 jeans. I love 3sixteen and their new run is amazing, quality japanese denim made super well, and that cut will give you your desired fit. just make sure you size appropriately for stretching (~1-1.5") and Tellason is a great denim brand imo, they're fairly new and their runs are really low but they are really great quality jeans. Cone denim and manufactured in san fran so its great american stuff. Their attention to detail is ridiculous, they have canvas lined back pockets and the threading is really nice. Both the ladbroke grove and the john graham mellor are both a slim fit jean but i personally like the mellor better. These two jeans are a really good comparison i think and have a lot of things in common, like the tanner goods leather patch. but i think it comes down your preference, either american (domestic) denim, or japanese denim.

Ah! Your reply, while I greatly appreciate, doesn't help me make a decision at all! SO beautiful! I guess it boils down to those fades, as I haven't seen any outstanding Tellason examples yet. I like the Mellor's too but it's such a heavy denim! Really, thanks a lot for your reply as I greatly appreciate it.

^For less than $100 you could try Gap. You can probably find a sale and the denim is fine for your purposes. I'd suggest Uniqlo, too, but I see you're in Chicago. If you know your measurements pretty well you'll probably get the best deal by keeping an eye on the SW&D B&S, or maybe look for RRL on ebay. Quality will be way better, though you won't get to try stuff on.
