Are we talking APC level stretch? Also, anyone know how the PBJ XX 005 cut compares with Momotaro 0705SP? The momo's don't stretch much, so basically I'm trying to figure out if I should go with same tagged size, or size down one on the PBJ due to the stretch.

Yeah, it's a workwear detail. I'm not extremely familiar with cinch-backs in general and don't particularly care for them, but they don't show at all unless you tuck in your shirt (which I don't when wearing jeans), and they can be removed if you really don't like them.

IME, I would say that PBJs generally stretch similarly to APCs. For me, they have definitely stretched more than Momotaros.

yeah cinch backs were used before belt loops were incorporated into jeans. so i guess its a throw back kinda detail for people, not too into it myself but it's a cool piece of history

Hey guys, looking for something a little out of the box. Slim straight, but with a dyed weft ...

Saw the Momotaro Grand Indigo, saw the Tender Lot 130, saw the PBJ Purple Face, and saw the Samuari Element series.

Can you guys think of any others that I've missed? Or a recommendation of the above based on fit (APC NS sz 29 is the ideal comparison)

Thanks!

Go with Momos or PBJ if you want closer to NS. The sams and Tender are both looser. And the tender back pockets especially aren't very flattering.

thinking Flat Head 3005. what to do with the extra length on the inseam? since they're straight leg, is that for cuffing rather than stacking? size 42 for a true 42" waist?

Hi guys. This is my first real post, hope you can help a newbie out! I'm in the market for a new pair of jeans or two, and am looking for some advice. I have been buying cheap "Buy now, wear now" jeans for the last few years, and looking to move to something a little more serious. That being said, I am full time student, so I am still on a budget. What brands would you guys recommend? I have been looking at Naked and Famous, they seem pretty well made, and I like that they are made locally (I'm Canadian!) Are there any others brands I should be looking at? Thanks!

Shitload of hate for N&F nowadays, it's the cool new thing to hate next to Wings + Horns

Take a look at APC, RRL, LVC too

I have a pair of APC NS that I bought in October. I washed them lightly in the tub with cols to war water for a max of 30 mins or so.

Since then, I have lost a bit of weight and the jeans have stretched. There really has not been many signs of distressing either (other then light whiskers and wrinkles behind the knee).

My question is should I continue to wear them in hopes that they will distress or should I soak them in hot water for an hour r so in hopes of shrinking them a bit so they will distress better? I guess my overall question is will raw jeans distress better the tighter they are on the body?

A tighter fit constitutes more pronounced whiskers and honeycombs behind the knee. Distressing comes from wear. Soaking them is a wasted effort

I've recently (as in today) saw the Somet 008 model on Context's website and the fit looks really nice. Any info as to how much they stretch? From the measurements, they appear vanity sized already ala APC.
