Im looking at this pair of jeans - http://www.styleforum.net/showthread.php?t=119754 However, im unsure on my sizing. Im wearing a nudie thin finn 33x32 now but I think it has stretched because as i sit down, i have some stomach fat bulging out. So i browsed on the FH sizing site. A FH size 30 is 31.5 waist. Can someone help me on what/how the best way to measure ? Thanks

what do you want to measure?

the flathead jeans should shrink to size 30 once you soak them and stretch back to 31.5 or 32 after 2 weeks wear.

email selfedge with sizing questions. i'm sure they'd be happy to help out.

I'd just like to know how the thin finn's sizing compare to flatheads

32 thin finn vs flat heat 30

PS is 50x more rainbow than those boring things.

haha yeah...I thought this question was a joke almost. These were the first thing that came to mind. BTW are Edwins good? I presume these are cut like Levis '47s...Im not sure if I like the double arcuate though.

Edwins are good for the price. Their selvage denim is average, on par or a step up from Nudie, but the cuts and details are really what drives people to buy them. There are all kinds of cuts, though, not just a '47.

if you're asking cuz you're buying [the FH on FS], they're a size too small on you.

Quick question:

Anyone know of jeans that fit like the new gap authentics (perfect fit for me), but are of higher quality? $80-$150 range??

Oh yeah and I was looking at the Uniqlo website and they have slim fit straight and regular fit straight... anyone know which is more similar to the gap authentic 1969s?

If you decide to be your own detective I'm pretty sure some people have posted about the uniqlo jeans on the uniqlo thread and there might even be some measurements that you could compare to the jeans you have now. Judging by how Gap cuts their denim for the most part, though, I'd wager you'd want to go with the Regular fit. For that price range, by the way, Uniqlo is your best bet. You won't begin to see a change in "quality" until you pass the $200 level.

Except for the lower rise , the Somet 003 is very much like the KMW 1980. Same slim fit, same leg opening. It's not really close at all to the 1950's.

The denim is also very similar in it's smooth hand and weight.
