What low range selvedge jean ($100-$200) is close to the cut of Levi 514s?

I got some Matchsticks from Levis and they're more tapered than I like. Thanks.

Yes, please do this, and report back how it goes.

first real post.
anyone has hooks for imperials?

Anyone have experience with April 77 Joeys? In particular the warsaw raw black coated ones. Similar in finish to Acne or Nudie coated denim? Any b&m stores in NYC to feel the texture in person? Also, I'm a true 28 inch waist, size 25 in APC PS. Go TTS with them if I can't try them on in a store?

I agree. Once in high school I woke up, threw some pants on drove to school. While walking in I noticed these big white spots on my pants. About the size of dimes or quarters all up and down my thighs. I figured I had to go through the whole day with these spots on my pants, but then touched a spot with my finger and the fabric just ashed off leaving a big hole. I ditched first period to go back home and change.

I'd imagine Urban Outfitters' house brand (Unbranded) in their slim straight fit about the same. From what I've seen in stores, it looks about right.

I don't want to lose too much indigo and end up with a dad jean wash, some fade character would be nice.

Hot soaking your jeans will get them back to pre-stretch size, but they'll stretch back out to where they are now really fast and really easily, probably during the first time you wear them after soaking. If you are going to keep these, it's probably best to get used to the idea of wearing them a bit loose.

there are many threads about many different brands and types of jeans.
but for you.. I would say APC Rescues and Naked and Famous SlimGuy should interest you. I am not sure how much your budget is..

I'm a new one in the forum but think I found just the place to hang out! I'm looking for a couple new pairs of jeans. I already have several and tend to stick to the Relaxed Fit 7's in waist size 34. I also really like the True Religion "Ricky" fit. Today I'm looking for more of a straight leg design to wear with my new black sperry's. They are all black with the exception of the white stitching. I have one pair of jeans that works well with them and they are Rock Revival Straight Leg. These are by far the best fitting jeans I have when it comes to a narrower leg opening which I would want for the Sperry's. I wear a size 34 in these but I'm looking for something in an indigo or maybe black tint with more of a basic design and regular back pockets, not the flap type that Rock Revival is known for. Can some provide me a recommendation?

Thanks!

Had to give my APC PS black/black weft to my brother because they just don't stretch as much as the normal denim. Damn. Someone asked about a similar cut to PS but with a higher rise a few pages ago, anyone have an idea?
Anyone have experience w/ Somet 003s? Since they have a somewhat low rise, would one consider a slightly larger waist b/c they sit lower on the hip? I guess this question would go for any low rise jean. thanks in advance. Namaste!

Decideded to post here to see what your guys opinions were on what might of caused this and what I should do?

Really confused and don't want to get more expensive jawnz if this is going to happen again

Those holes are really unusual, I've never seen anything like it before. It looks like something is somehow eating your denim or that something is just poking holes in it.

It definitely doesn't look like the holes are from wear or manufacuturing issues, unless they came like that when you bought them.

I apologize in advance for the n00bish nature of the post (first post on SF); I've done my best to search for an answer already and haven't quite found what I'm after so here goes: Having only recently become aware of the fact that different jean rises even exist, I'm curious what ya'll might recommend given this requirement: straight-leg jeans that won't crush my junk. What I've typically found is that slimmer-fit jeans that work fine while standing end up riding up and getting progressively tighter in the crotch when I sit down for any length of time. The only pants I have that don't do this are either relaxed/baggy or cheap Dickies work pants with a 13" front rise. I'm 6'1, 175 lbs, 33" waist, 41" chest, 22.5" thigh. I typically wear 32/34 in most brands I've tried. I'm assuming that bigger rise will give me more room, except it seems like that might be somewhat nullified by the fact that the are supposed to be worn higher... Also, the Levi 501s I've got tend to give me the same problem even though (I think) they have a fairly large front rise. Thanks in advance for any advice, and apologies again if this has been thoroughly covered elsewhere. EDIT: price range - sub $300
post #14158 of 20704
There are not many jeans out there that have a higher rise or a larger top block than 501's. Maybe you just need to find a particular cut that fits you well.
Something with a good sized thigh measurement. You probably want to stay away from slim cuts unless you size up. If you want recommendations you might want to include a price range. Also measure some jeans that fit you well and compare the measurements to those offered online.

Thanks Nopike. So it could be that I'm destined to wear only relaxed-fit jeans? Curse you, Gods of Denim!

Anyone else got a different angle? Someone with similar measurements, perhaps?

You can find a pair that fits you well that are not relaxed fit. It's a common problem for those of us who are not real slim. You may have to forgo a little comfort. I'm 6'1' 190 and I have slim fit jeans in size 34 and 36 that work for me. You could probably find something in a 34 that gives you enough room.
