I have a jean...(The Ultimate Jean Thread For Beginners) - ask questions here. - Page 92

I am looking for some recommendations for some new jeans (apparently).

I am about 5'9" and around 175 LBS. I have an average build (not to skinny; not to fat), and I usually wear 34 x 30 low rise boot cut jeans (Levi 527). I have noticed that the 34s do no fit me as well as they used to and 32 is way to small. Looking for recommendations for someone with my build. I normally either wear Converse chucks (worn, old look) or something along the lines of Nike dunk 6.0 (high or lows).

Recommendations on type of jean I should look to get. Perferr darker wash jeans.
Are Slim fit a thing of the past as well?
How often should jeans be washed?

The bottom of my RRDS are absolutely massacred. I don't this to be the end of them, I haven't even been able to wash them! Would I still be able to get them hemmed if the back of them is completely torn up? And a piece of the side was ripped off in the bar...

hey guys, i'd love some advice or recommendations here.

i just got some apc ns's a few weeks ago. i'm breaking them in well, and it's going great, except that i have slim legs (mostly just below the knees, my calves are pretty thin) so the jeans are making my legs look like toothpicks. i'm currently gaining weight (on a bulk) and working out 4 days a week, so this shouldn't be too much of a problem for long as i figure to gain some mass everywhere, not just in the legs.

my question is, i need a new pair of jeans to hold me over until i can start doing it big with my new standards! i already have the new standards and a pair of 514 dark was levis, i need a lighter wash, something that looks like more of a traditional blue jean. i want a slim fitting leg but not super skinny, if you know what i mean. i'd love to get a pair for around $50-80, but if you can find a pair of jeans that i fall in love with i won't mind spending $130 or so.

Shoe, buddy, "slubby" to me describes an inconsistency or series of imperfections of the denim. At least to me, it'd be harder to really see the slub of a particular denim if it's overdyed. That isn't to say they're not great jeans and wouldn't show their slub later on in the wearing process but when you see a pair of regular PBJs upclose, there's no question as to how to describe what you're looking at. For those reasons, I have a pair of the regular kind myself.

On my first pair of dry jeans. Just received APC rescues in 30, but the cut doesn't fit as well as I'd like (I measured them 33.5" at the waist, good inch larger than what I was expecting). Perfect in the thighs and legs, but loose in the waist and a little extra material in the seat. I've been adviced to size down another in the APC thread, but I'm wondering if maybe a different brand and cut would suit me better.

Does the 5ep ldbc have a better thigh/waist ratio? I was thinking of getting a 31 in that instead of the rescues. Also who sells these online, only place I see is denimbar and dresscodes and neither has 31 in stock.

I am no denim expert and actually a newbie.
But anyways I think I can help you a little.
The APC rescue's are APC's baggiest/non-skinniest(correct word choice?) jeans. So if you think they are too baggy and loose then you might want to try the APC New Standards. These are supposed to fit tighter than the rescues but arent skin tight or anything.
Also with the new standards I have heard that sizing down 3 is for a skinny fit, sizing down 1/none for a baggier fit and size down 2 for somewhere in between.

Also when you first buy your jeans they should be really tight/hard to button up. So maybe a pair of rescues with a smaller waist might do the trick.

Wish I was more of a help here heh

Thanks tourangh, but the new standards are supposed to run a half inch smaller in the thigh than the rescues, so I think that would increase my issue of tight thigh/loose waist.

blynch, if your body type isn't fitting the standard -2 for the NS then yeah, I'd strongly recommend looking into a different cut.

oh yeah i know. those two questions from me were not at all related. i am looking for big slubs on jeans. but at the same time i thought that pbj jean was pretty neat and wanted an opinion on it.
Well it didn't take much to convince me. On the advice of whodini I just ordered a pbj 007 in raw. This is going to be my first foray into unsanforized.

One wash or raw, issnt O/W just them doing the soak for you?
Then what is the reason behind the option of buying raw or one wash, when you'll be one washing them anyways?
