How much do jeans typically stretch in the thigh and knee during wear? Am I correct that the waist stretches about an inch?

depends on the brand and how you sized them. this is a very vague question. You basically just asked the equivalent of "What kind of gas mileage should I expect from my car?"

Hey dudes, it's me from MC. I needed some new jeans but am a cheap fuck. I just bought some 511s. They fit me well, sized down 1. I was going to get some grim tims, but couldn't find them in an non-distressed wash. So, how should I treat these? I'm talking about washing them, presoaking them, etc. I'm not throwing them out. It's has no distressing and is pretty much black. It looks sort of like this but without the weird back pocket zipper.

Okay, I understand there are different weight to denim, like in any fabric. How about the Samurai S5000VX or Samurai SO210XJ or KMW 1980 or APC Rescue or Sugar Cane 1947/1966/Hawaii?

Unless your jeans are raw and shrink-to-fit, there's no need for a presoak. To wash, I would recommend doing it cold, inside-out, and on delicate cycle to minimize color loss. I would recommend hang drying rather than tumble drying to minimize wear and color loss as well.

If you want higher contrast fades, wash less often. If you want a more even fade, wash more often.

The Japanese Levi's site gives actual measurements, if you can read the language. What size and model are you looking at specifically?

All the 501 permutations. (There are different models for different years, right?) Maybe the 505s.

Hello, Sorry for starting my first post with a question, but I've followed this forum quite a lot as i always end up here trough google results Anyway; i was wondering if someone knows another brand that has similar jeans' as the Number (N)ine one that Jude L is wearing on these pics? I'm looking for the same fit and color (waxed?) if possible or one that resembles the most with the jeans on the pics Thanks in advance

I would like to invest in a pair of raw denim. The only problem is I must try them on before I buy due to my unique size/shape. I currently wear Levi 514 Slim Straight 33W 30L and they fit me well. Is there any department store or mall stores that sells raw denim worth buying?

As a last resort, I would consider buying online a pair that fit almost exactly to Levi 514 Slim Straight.

Can anyone help me out?

If there's a Barney's Co-Op near you, they carry several good brands of raw denim. If you live in New York City, I would recommend Blue in Green and Self Edge as walk-in stores to try stuff on in, but the brands there will be more expensive than the ones at the Barney's Co-Op. Self Edge also has locations in San Francisco and Los Angeles if you are in California.

Levi.com will occasionally have a 514 in a rigid one-wash selvage. I don't currently see them up, but they go on and off every few months. They run $98 retail, although they can be had in the store for much less (got mine for $45 in April 2010 - they wear really well)
