So I've read around 400 pages so far... and will eventually get around to it. I took a bunch of pics to ask which one fits best for me. I've never had slim fit pants before, so I have no clue what it should or shouldn't look like. Relevant info is as follows
imo, the diors have the best fit on you. there are a ton of really great slim jeans out there. do you prefer a low or mid rise?
Yea i checked out the thread of sub $200 jeans. It was only linked on the last fifty pages whenever someone asked for an entry level jean recommendation. However i didnt like most of them I came up with a hypothesis that most of these jeans look weird on me because I'm a mesomorph. If you look at a lot of the pictures posted that actually look good are by ectomorphs, I have yet to find any good examples on someone with a similar build. This is after combing through WAYWT threads. The closest guy i found to my type is someone called rw45 or something, but he doesn't have that many pics, only of dior. What are the merits of low and mid rise? If i had to choose without knowing what they mean, I'd probably go with mid rise, since I think low rise makes my legs look small. I read in another thread that if you have lower back / ass definition from working out, low rise might look good, any idea why? The Diors actually look just like the other jeans in irl, and i think look the best because I forgot to stack the jeans. If you use your hand to block off the extra length it looks only average. But this might just be me trying to rationalize avoid buying the $350 pair of jeans. For 350 I can cop me a pair of eternals or something nice from SE/BiG Last question, are APCs still being sold for $120-140? Granted, it's only a $40-60 difference (after taxes) from retail, but I shoving whatever funds I have left into my ToJ DR fund. ... Maybe I should just skip APC and just go straight for japanese denim? The price of APCs after tax is abysmal. And kit is always bashing on them.
i feel like i have a similar build as you... try to grab a pair of pbj 13's or 5's or IH 301s tts looks like the fits you're going for. and last i checked people who size wrong in both sizes are common so you should be able to get the pbjs just under 200 and the ih's under 250.
i think the diors look best on you, because they seem to emphasize your hips a whole lot less than the other jeans. the nudies seem to emphasize big hips the most, but who knows it may just be the angle of the photo.
Can someone recommend a jean similar to LVC 1947 but with a shorter rise?
I pretty much like everything about the cut (narrowish thighs, stovepipe legs, back pocket position and design, denim quality, etc) except the rise which is too high for me (it's like 11 or 12"). I live like a mile from Self Edge, so maybe something they carry there?
Thanks max_r, for the justification of your reasoning. I still need to figure out how and what you guys are thinking in order to assimilate myself into SF groupthink. (which i figure is a starting point, since SF as a whole is more steezin' than the current me)

I resent that comment LOL.
Keep that generalization to those born after 1990.
Just so I'm not wasting space on the thread, I measured 2 pairs of jeans that I wear normally (but not fitted per SF standards)
What needs altering to achieve a desired fit for my body type? (something along the lines of "thighs need to be slimmer/tight/painted on, waist smaller, legs slimmer, those kind of critiques.) or, even better, post a pic of something you think looks perfect on someone with large shoulders/small waistlines. I'm still trying to find something evidence to prove my hypothesis that "jacked guys can not wear slim jeans" wrong.
Why is bootcut bad? A post I read a few days ago states that "it eets ur shoez" but I would appreciate further clarification.
Going to take a look at the pbj 13's or 5's or IH 301s as recommended. I can't believe I'm thinking about dropping $200+ on jeans. And converting html into bbg code sucks.
hey uni, can you post more pics. thanks the difference between mid/low rise is just where the jean sits on your waist. personally, i prefer mid rise but thats just me. mid rise jeans, imo, will suit your body type a little better.
