Mike, out of curiosity, what do you find iffy about the Momotaro/Context collabs? Personally, I think they chose nice details for that model, and I've always been a little more impressed with the construction quality of Momotaros than I have been with PBJs.

I think it's fine, but I've heard that ordinary Tide might cause them to fade a little bit faster than using something like All Free and Clear or something like that. I bought some Momotaro detergent the last time I bought jeans from Japan, and that seems to work well, but it's expensive, and to be honest with you, I don't think I wash my jeans often enough for it to make a big difference what detergent I use.

btw, these is the current fit of the 007s__ TTS @W33. as i mentioned, a possible size down is warranted if aiming for a slimmer fit. but, personally, i prefer a more "comfort" fit.

The other problem for me was that I didn't realize I was buying the one-wash version until after I received the jeans. I bought them from a Rakuten store that didn't mention whether they were raw or one-washed, and I didn't look at the pictures carefully enough before placing the order.

Regardless, they've stretched out enough to be comfortable. They still fit quite slim, but they don't feel tight unless I'm trying to do sit-ups in them or something like that.

APC New Cure size 33, about a week or so of wear. Sorry for crappy cell phone pics.

I think I'm finally OK with this fit after trying a bunch of other fits from APC.

Thoughts?

Haha, I don't want to start the same argumenet - have a look at the Momo thread on myNudies.
The collab. I didn't like is the Momo x N&F one.

I think Momo's construction is top notch of course, most things are done in house!
Whereas PBJ's strength lies in it's fabric and dyeing - the construction varies according to the different factories they use.

Looking over that thread, yeah, I would rather not start the same debate. However, these are a different beast so I'm not going to count them out just because of the N&F shenanigans. Good to know about the construction differences. I wish there were some decent photos of the Momo x Context shizz floating around, aside from what is on Context's site, because some of the beautiful PBJ fades are swaying me.

I need a recommendation on what to buy for my first pair.

My thighs are somewhat big so I don't want something too slim.

From searching this forum and some others, I think my best bet would be either the APC New Standards or KMW 1980.

I would appreciate any feedback on those 2 pairs along with any other brands/fits that I should consider.

Thanks.

Haven't had a chance to read that thread yet, but after having owned both Momotaro and N&F jeans separately, I wouldn't be interested in a Momo/N&F collab either. IMO, there is a significant step down in quality going from Momo to N&F, and I figure that the lowest common denominator would win out in a collab between the two. Context/Momo collab, on the other hand, looks really good to me. Been thinking about getting those for a while now.

^ Yeah, I agree. I'll summarise my 1000 word arguement here: If N&F doesn't make an honest effort in the collaboration (they are garment manufacturer's too, not a retailer like Context), then why the hell would I want to downgrade 50% of my Momo jeans??? I can get 100% Momo for cheaper.

Question for all the denim heads:

I'm looking for a pair of raw, straight-legs with non-constrast stitching. Any ideas? Fits that have worked for me in the past include APC Rescues, NDG Regular Fits and IH634s. Obviously tons of options with contrast stitching, but would love to switch it up and find something with matching stitching.

What is your price range?

Also, by "non-contrast" stitching, does that mean stitching that is the same color as the denim?

First time with N&F Grey selvage Weird Guys.

Do these need to be soaked before worn? I know they're sanforized, but is there an amount of shrinkage that's usually standard with these?

Would be great if I could find something in the $200 to $250 range, but price is more of a secondary factor. And yeah, I'm looking for stitching that matches the color of the denim. Love my Iron Hearts as much as the next guy, but looking to get away from orange stitching for my next pair of raws.

Thanks in advance for the help. Appreciate it.
