these jeans are created on vintage equipment with the highest of care, and a tailor is in a cost-cutting, "get it done fast" business that doesn't take the time your jeans got when being made. You will be straying from the strong quality construction of the jean. Jeans, in the top block, are a complicated bunch of connected parts, and slimming that down might mean taking it all apart, and you can't guarantee that your tailor is gonna make it look like it did in terms of stitching, details, and construction when they're finished.

Also, jeans like the ones from Self Edge are focused around the ideal of reproductions of classic jeans, and having a tailor get involved, with their modern equipment means breaking away from the reproduction ideal.

If you care about that stuff, well, you sound you belong on SF. If you don't care about that stuff, risk using your tailor.

As to your fit, the top block on those looks way too large, yes, including the waist, and yet is somehow riding all up your ass at the same time. though you don't look like you have the buttons actually buttoned up, i doubt that changes much. the legs looks great, btw, except for the goofy standing-on-the-hems bit. You are, indeed, very, very skinny.

I'd say sell 'em on B&S and get something else.

What do you thinks is a reasonable asking price?

(its one of those the more you learn, the less you know?)

I just want a nice slim fit. Something similar to dior 19cm/17.5cm's or APC PS/NC's.

Please, just name me two. Thanks.

i like flathead BSPs and iron heart 301s..they sell out fast

plus they look amazing broken in

I have a pair of Naked and Famous Skinny Jeans and the zipper slider fell off. I've only had the jeans for two months...how do I go about fixing this? I know nothing about zippers. Please enlighten me.

Im looking to buy a pair of Eternal 811s. My true waist is 32 and I have bigger than average thighs. When I went TTS on a pair of Samurai 710 they were too tight in the waist and really uncomfortable in the crotch area; So I sold them and sized up. Should I size up 1 on the Eternal 811s or TTS?

They're already washed. See how they're distressed? Distressed=washed.

Thanks for the advice! Just kopped a pair of BSP's size 30 from Self Edge.

However, I wonder if I got the sizing question down right. I typically wear size 30 (46) from italian designers in pants. APC's and Dior's I wear size 28's or 29's depending on the model.

I have a 30" waist and 32" at the hip. Is a size 30 the right way to go for the BSP's given my measurements?

What the salesperson stated and what I've read on the website in regards to stretch and shrinkage weren't exactly the same.

Anyone care to shed some light. I still have time to go down to a size 29 or up to a 31 if need be, but it'd have to be done today before they hem it.

Thanks!

Regarding the fit pics in this post: 1. Any further opinions on the fit? 2. I'm thinking about getting some raw denim, probably Nudies. What kind of alterations would you make to the jeans in the fit pics to compare with for proper sizing? The only thing I can think of is that they're a tad too long, and might just be a little tight. They're also too skinny; if I got some raw I wouldn't get that skinny. How does one size Nudies? Should I size down from waist or just go with these jean measurements? How much do they shrink about?

Anyone have experience with raw PBJ XX-007? I'm a true waist 33.5. I read through the PBJ thread and most of the responses deal with the one-wash. BiG lists the sz. 31 RAW XX007 at 34 in the waist. Is there going to be minimal stretching after soaking/shrinkage? I saw someone put up a sz. 31 007 on the b&s claiming a hot soak and 2 month minimal wear measuring the waist at 34. Seems like that would be right for me but all the O/W TTS talk has me a bit skittish.

With any wear, it's going to stretch back out. Think you have to keep in mind with PBJ is that if you start worrying about sizing down to account for the waist, what you won't account for is how slim it fits through the legs. I definitely regret sizing down on mine even though the waist is loose.

Hips were my problem area. Technically the waist is pretty loose, but my hips hold them and it took a long time and some pain to get them to stretch enough to accommodate. Still my favorite jeans though

PBJs can stretch a lot. I bought the one wash for this model, and it came really shrunken. My true waist is 35", and I bought a 32 tagged for these. The waist was about 32"- 32.5" when I got these, but it stretched out to 34.5". They're fine now, but they were painful to get into at first.

It's entirely conceivable to me that the waist on a 31 could stretch to a 34.

if you got bigger thighs [to waist ratio] 811 is the cut for you. TTS__ SU1 if you got a bit of paunch. denim is tightly weaved like the Momos, so don't dare size down [from your normal] hoping to stretch them out. you will be disappointed

as for the 710xx denim, they're quite a ball-buster when new, but the denim tend to stretch a ton when broken in & had a few washes. they're usually TTS ['cept for lot 10 & 11, i think, w/c are shrink from tag]. when new, the jeans behave seemingly in a constant state of perpetual flux as it yoyos back&forth__ shrinkng & stretching as you soak/wash & wear em. i found out [the hard way] that the trick is not to try to hot soak & shrink them to max right away__ just gradually all through the break in process & beyond. an initial cold to luke-warm soak__ a 2nd warm to hot soak below top block if the fit is still a bit wonky__ cold to luke-warm soak or cold wash the rest of the way until the denim finally stabilize.

SU1. from experience, they shrink beyond tagged size.

why bother going through pain & anguish [whether they'll stretch far enuff or not] sizing down, when you can just size them right & get on with your life ?!

007 is TTS__ SD1 for a slimmer fit, period.

when you starch your jeans do you starch the insides or the outsides.
