I received a pair of Sugarcane SC 2009 from Selfedge today. I wear a 34 in 3sixteen and ordered the same in SC. The jeans fit great everywhere. The problem is that they are comfortable right now at the waist. I generally prefer the waist on new jeans to be an inch tight so that after stretch they fit comfortably. I am worried that if they fit comfortably now, they would stretch and be unwearable without a belt. Any thoughts on how much stretch I can expect in the waist. I have not taken the tags off, so i can return them for store credit. Thanks for your help EDIT: Uploaded pics. Also noticed that there is some weird thing going on at the backside as if the jeans is being sucked in by my ass. Reminded me of Moo's Prps . So basically should I keep them or return them. In case of return, should I get a smaller size or try some other jeans

Hey guys I'm about 5'8 and I usually wear inseam 30 in washed jeans. However, I almost see everyone around my height or shorter wear 32 inseam and sometimes even 34. Should I get 30 or 32 inseam? Thanks.

How does the Imperial Duke compare to Nudie Slim Jim?
I've heard the dukes are slimmer fitting, but their measurements on the self edge site seem to suggest a slightly more generous fit.

Bought two pairs of Levi's 501s, I believe pre-washed (NOT the shrink to wear) on sale One is a beige, probably the "tobacco" color. The other is a darker one. I was in a hurry trying them on and decided on the beige in a 29"/32", so I grabbed the darker ones in the same color. Turns out he darker ones were too tight. Ended up being able to swap them for a 30 waist, but when I started actually wearing the beige, I noticed that they were way too long. Without shoes, I occasionally step on the darker's cuffs, but I am basically walking on the beige's. When I am wearing shoes or boots, there's more fabric bunched up at the bottom than I'd like there to be. I could cuff them, but it looks weird (and the cuffs aren't very crisp looking.)

I can't take the beige back, and I don't think they really have much left. How much should I expect these to shrink in the leg, and what would be the best method for washing/drying, given that I want there to be some shrinking in the leg but not a whole lot in the waist/seat? Also, would getting them hemmed screw up anything in fit besides making them shorter? I'm not really sure if these jeans taper anywhere...but if I can't tell, they probably don't do it enough for it to be noticeable.

I really like the color. I don't think they make it in 501s anymore. Perhaps they'll bring it back or put it on a similar style in time. I'm not sure how Levi's does things.

You should wear whatever you think looks good on you. If there's one thing I've learned about jeans, it's to try on multiple sizes of the same style and color to decide what looks best. Sometimes, the fit is actually different when the color is different (see my case above,) and I'd imagine sometimes it'd be wise to even try on multiple pairs in the same size when you have found a style you like just to make sure they really are the same. EDIT: I'm 5'9", btw, so I'm in a similar boat. Like my post above says, one 32" was too long, another just about right. I'm guessing you're ordering online, which takes a little bit of fearlessness, unless you know you can return them or are very familiar with the jean.

Digging up measurements on the Weird Guy make them sound like maybe exactly what I'm looking for (sized down a little) -- it's a rough world when you have a tiny waist and time trial legs.

Does anyone know about the "Unbranded" jeans from Urban Outfitters? I'm sort of loathe to buy *anything* from Urban -- I've seen too many UO "bicycles" roll through the door in need of repair to trust anything with their name on it -- but I understand (and I apologize if this is a thing that's gone around-and-around) that they're just unbranded N&F jeans? I'll swallow my pride if it's worth 60 bucks.

Made in the US would be ideal, but I'm a man on a budget. Made in Canada isn't so bad.

Is Cultizm generally the best/cheapest option for 1947s?

Is it possible/practical to get jeans tapered? Right now the jeans have an 8" knee and go straight down into an 8" hem. Would it be possible to taper them into a 7" hem? Also, is this a common practice for tailors? I'm kind of afraid to go to my usual tailor because they hardly speak any English, and if this is a very rare request it might be hard to tell them exactly what I want. Does anyone know of any good tailors in San Jose, CA?

i think the fit looks good on u. if u really want to size down 1, just make sure they are not too tight around ur thighs, since it will only stretch abt 0.5' around there..

Hi guys, I hope you can help me with my new jeans.. I'd like to buy raw denim ones from APC, but I'm not sure about the size. Before I usually wore the standard Levi's 501 (not STF) and my size was 34W 36L , these were normal fit, not too tight, not baggy. Should I size down the APCs an inch or buy my usual size?

I'm also unsure about the length of the jeans, is it always the same by APC, as you can't choose a length in their eshop? I'm 189 cm (about 6'2'' I think) tall and therefore don't want the jeans to be too short.

You need to size down on APC's at least one, and probaly two sizes. Everyone states they stretch alot. I'm 6-1 and 190lbs and usually wear a 34 jeans. I went with 32 for APC NS and those fit tight in the thighs but with stretch they would have fit fine. I did not keep them. The waist of the 32's fit me fine, a 33 would have been too loose.

The lenght was fine also and should be fine for some one who is 6-2. They are narrow at the hem so they won't be touching the ground anyway.

EDIT: I'm 34 in 501's also, go with the 32's for a slim fit and 33 for relaxed. You did not say which cut of APC you are considering.

Thanks! I didn't try any of the cuts personally, but will probably also buy the New Standard, as these seem the most classical to me. I like my jeans to be slim, but not extremely tight so I'll probably go down two sizes to 32. Do they shrink a lot? I plan to do the "hot soaking phase" as the people here recommend. Why didn't you keep them? Any problems or you didn't like the cut?
