I tried on the rocker, but it was more for shits and giggles than anything else, as they're not really my style. I've never tried thin finn. I did try the standard and new standard very briefly, but don't remember which was which...one of the two I couldn't even button in the size I had.

Rockers were pretty tight all the way down as I recall, though I did try a 29 and I'm usually more of a size 30 to 31.

I want to get some Nudie Jeans from ShopJake, however, I have never bought this brand before. Can anyone tell me how they run? Also, are they going to stretch out a bit? I usually wear a 33 or 34, but all they had was a 32.

dak, Nudies tend to run a little big and stretch some, so a 32 might actually fit you fine. Which model is it?

^ Aren't you the guy who mostly wear bootcuts now? The Slim Jim might be too radical of a change at this point. I'd recommend taking it slow and going with regular/somewhat slim straight jeans like the Straight Svens first.

Well im new here at SF..haha. I'm still a kid in HS and for the majority of high school i've worn what everyone else wears..mostly hollister/abercrombie and fitch/express/gap. However i want to slowly start up grading my closet for college because i don't want to be dressed like a fool lol. And i wanted to start with my jeans. I've worn mostly Gap jeans until about last year my grandpa bought me a pair of Giorgianni (spelling? :X) Jeans before he passed away. I don't know if those were high quality or not (probably not lol) but i've worn them because they were comfortable and thought they had a nice color to them, although the fades at the hemming/pockets looked kind of fake.. and of course for the sentimental reason. . I usually wear size 30 Jeans and im about 135/140 pounds and 5'6'' or 5'7''. Length wise i really dont know what would be considered appropriate because i wear various lengths and either fold them up, let them be, or trample on them lol. However i can say that my legs are relatively skinny, and my cousins compare them to girl legs from time to time. Despite this i do not like wearing tight girl jeans, but don't like jeans that are too baggy either. I was thinking either Nudie RRDS, Nudie RRDG, APC NS, and my friend suggested ald prescott? I'm pretty set on the RRDS because i dig the back pocket design and the nice sheen the jeans have and out of all the jeans i've seen so far online i think they fade the nicest. Before you move into raw/selvedge denim you may want to consider what you're getting into. Even if you don't turn into a denimhead freak like over at another site, Superfuture, you are in for a totally new jeans experience. To be happiest DO YOUR RESEARCH ON THE PAIR YOU BUY. Depending on which brand you pick you're in for the following guaranteed -Break in Time: Unless they come with nylon/polyester with them, those fuckers will be tight. Real tight. It's the nature of the beast. -Unpredictable Shrinkage/Necessary Stretching: APC's are meant to be bought two sizes down then they will stretch to fit perfectly. But if you wash them they can shrink down to regular size. But if you dry them incorrectly, they'll shrink waaaay too much. Nudies usually go down 1 size from regular, I believe. -Wear and Tear: if you check the Nudie site, they advise, and many agree, a 6 month wait before you wash them at all. This and the tough nature of the denim will create really interesting fading and creasing. Of course you can just say fuck it and wash them whenever, but a big deal in raw denim is that they become personal over time. And maybe -Some indigo colored jeans will rub their dye off onto any light colored fabrics (and your legs) -Some will come with a light sheen/shininess. It will go away after a wash. Be careful you do it right. All of this is covered on this forum and supertalk.superfuture.com. Use the search functions on both to find your answers. What jeans do I recommend? I don't have a ton of brand experience, but check this superfuture thread (http://supertalk.superfuture.com/showthread.php?t=20161) and the one on this forum for pictures. For beginners, Nudies or APC New Standards / New Cures are the way a lot of people go.

The rocker is more like a NS, but lower rise.

Raw jeans aren't tight by definition... they are as loose or tight as you buy them. They'll be stiffer than jeans that have been washed, certainly but not necessarily tighter.

I'm looking for a low rise, tapered/straight leg, dry denim pair of jeans.

I have the Earnest Sewn Hutch, which is kinda tight around the thighs, but I like 'em (as long as it's not the first time wearing after a wash). I also have the Hemingway, which is a "full leg", which I like as well. I also have a pair of Diesel Zathans in one size too big, but I think I'd like it if it were sized right.

So I have 3 pairs of bootcut jeans, and I'm trying to go for some tapered/straight leg ones. I'm looking at the Nudie jeans, and the Straight Sven seems to fit the bill, except it has a 10" rise, which is a little much for me. I like the Hutch with the 8.5" rise, so an extra inch and a half seems a little extreme.

Suggestions?

Acne Mics should fit the bill for you, rice rocket. Medium-low rise and straight-legged with just a little bit of taper. Look them up.

I have a question of my own. SO:
I have a pair of DH 19cm MIJs coming in. My inseam is about 29 if I want no break, 30 if I'm breaking, 31 if I'm cuffing. I want some serious stacking on these, but I'm afraid the full 38 is going to just look ridiculous on my short legs.
To hem or not to hem? And how much?

I agree, I was a bit hasty putting my own experience in. However I saw that he was going to go with Nudies and APC's in models which, while not skintight, will probably be pretty tight at first.

I don't consider the RR (in either DS or DG) or the NS to be really tight jeans... NCs, ok sure, maybe the Acne Max or Nudie SSKs or something would be tight, but the RR is downright relaxed to me, and the NS can be either loose or tight depending on how you size. Sure, if you size down 4-5 sizes, it's going to be skin tight and ball busting, but sizing down two gives a pretty normal fit IMO.
