Hermès selvage jeans

Does anyone own a pair of Hermès jeans with Hermès-orange selvage? They're made in France (which the salesperson at the Hermès store in Fairfax Square wasn't aware of until I pointed it out - the salesperson told me erroneously they were made in Italy.) One cool detail is the patch on the outside is actually just Hermès-orange thread around the perimeter of where the patch would be; however, the leather patch is actually on the inside of the jeans, so it's as if the thread holding the patch onto the inside of the jeans was sewn all the way through the jeans so that just the outline of the patch is showing where the patch should be on the outside. I hope this makes sense. Anyway it's a very cool detail and the jeans look awesome. Just wanted to hear from someone who owns them before I shell out the $750.

If you buy, you need to put up pictures.

Yes, but the 45rpm jomons still cost more than a pair of Hermes.

how much are 45rpm's? i was under the impression they were around the 5-6 benjamins mark.

OK OK OK. If you must have them because they are Hermes then do so. I wouldnt pay that much for ANY JEAN and its not because I get a deal.
You need to find out some very important things.

first and foremost are they 100% natural indigo??
Second are they hand made?
Third what kind of fabric are they using?
We already know they were ade in France so for that they should owe you money...lol
If all those questions come to your approval then get them if not spend your money on some KMW , 45rpm, or Guilded AGE ( natural indigo and handwashed)
Those are my thoughts.
It's cool to buy into luxury brands my business is based upon that but know what you are buying so you dont look like a sucker.

If you want them for the name, just get some diors and save a few hundred dollars. If you want good quality look at 45pm or maybe the natural indigo paul smiths. That said, I haven't seen the Hermes so I don't know what they are like. There's nothing about the brand that suggests to me that they'd do good denim though :P

and if you want orange selvedge, get Jean Shop denim. Definitely my favorite selvedge

Over 700 in American markets. I think 500-600 in Japan though.

Once you hit the $400+ mark buying jeans for the sake of price to quality ratio is kind of pointless, IMO, so feel free to splurge on the jeans if you really want.

Thanks... those are good questions to ask. All I know is the label on the jeans said "organic cotton" but that doesn't mean a whole lot... the only reason to get them would be for the exclusivity factor. I was at Tysons Corner today and if I had a nickel for every pair of Sevens or Citizens of Humanity jeans I'd be rich! Well, not exactly, but I'd have like an extra dollar or two.

So does Denim Bar carry 45rpm or Guilded Age? I know you have KMW because I bought two pair in your Arlington store! I guess 45rpm has some licensing issues that preclude you from carrying that brand? I have had my eye on some KMW Raw Rockers so that would probably be a better option than Hermès jeans... the Hermès were actually reminiscent of the Rockers... I mean, high-end jeans are high-end jeans and there's not too much difference between a $200 pair and a $400 pair, and this $750 pair. Now if you really want exclusivity, you have to move up to the next level, four-figure jeans -- which would require a visit to the Rampuya shop in Kurashiki City, Okayama Prefecture in Japan -- for a pair of Japan Blues (which are woven on antique shuttle looms and hand-dipped in natural indigo.)

Ok if we're going for exclusivity, here are some jeans that cost $1,661 (¥178,500) which is more than twice as expensive as the Hermès, but a much better value because you're not paying for BNI (Brand Name Inflation):
