Brooks outlet: Loro Piana cord suits for $80

Stopped by a Brooks outlet today and found a rack of fine wale corduroy suits. Darkish brown, Loro Piana cloth, made in Italy. Originally made for the mainline stores, and pretty nice at that. Coat even has a ticket pocket. Best of all, the price had been knocked down to $80, even as the far less impressive cord sportcoats made for the outlets were selling at $250+.

I don't know how often I'll wear a cord suit, but $80 is still a good price on a nice cord odd jacket, much less on a jacket and trou.

If you live near a Brooks outlet and are interested, might be worth stopping by. Label says they're from fall 2004, so I'm not sure how widespread they'll be, but this outlet had a good selection in many sizes.

If it's the same one that I have hanging in the closet (purchased on Ebay last year), it's a nice suit. The fabric, although Loro Piana, feels kinda stiff. But for $80? can't beat that.

If anyone happens to see a 40 or 42R, I would be willing to pay a finder's fee..

the great thing about a cord suit is you can use it as separates. you could pair the coat with jeans for a more casual look or wear the trousers separately with any number of odd jackets.

I'd happily drop a hundy if someone spots a 42L. Nearest brooks outlet to me is ~2 hours drive.

Nice. I wanted one of these for a long time. But in the meantime I've bought two cord suits.

If there are any 38R's (highly unlikely) let me know, I'd pay a finder's fee.

Anyone know if they're selling suit separates, or just the entire suit?

Will pay finders fee for a 42R on this one.

I'd consider a 40R if I could see pictures first. And are the pants flat-front or pleated? Would pay a small fee.

I went to the Brooks outlet at Great Lakes Crossing (Michigan) and they did not have it. I asked the sales woman about it and was told that they dont recall ever carrying corduroy suits.

Might want to check Chelsea Outlet Malls in Michigan City. I don't know what part of Michigan you're in, but it's about as close to MI you can get in Indiana.

Yeah, that's the place that advised they had no cord suits but offered to hook me up with a pair of cord pants and a cord blazer - no guarantees it would match though. I guess you don't get their best effort on Sunday afternoon.

I finally did find someone who "checked the computer" and found one at another location that they're shipping to me for an extra nine bucks.

I actually went today....took off work for an hour since I work in Troy.
They offered to match up a blazer and pants as well...but nothing came close to matching.
