In discussion with an online buddy who lives not too far from me in Oshkosh, Wisconsin, it occurred to us that it might be fun to have to have a Northeast Wisconsin get-together for members of Style Forum and a couple of other boards (you can probably guess which ones). We figure that in a low-density-of-interested-parties area like this, we need to cast our net wide if we are to attain any kind of critical mass. We know that at least the two of us will be there!
It strikes me that Leap Day, February 29, which falls on a Friday this year, is an excellent day to celebrate because it only comes once every four years. So, for Northeast Wisconsin members of the boards (as well as those from the rest of Wisconsin, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, Minnesota, and Illinois who might like to visit), here are the particulars:
5:30-7:00 Drinks and socializing at the Deja Vu Martini Bar, 519 W. College Avenue in downtown Appleton, Wisconsin (centrally located for Green Bay, Oshkosh, Fond du Lac, Manitowoc, Sheboygan, Door County, and other points in NE Wisconsin). This is a great spot with a strong vintage flavor. Note that establishments in Appleton are smoke-free by local ordinance.

7:00-9:00 Dinner a step away at the Old Bavarian German Gasthaus und Bar, 523 W. College Avenue. This is an authentic, unpretentious, inexpensive eatery with atmosphere and schnitzel to die for. Great selection of German beer. Catch the music on their website!

9:00-Whenever Return to Deja Vu for post-dinner festivities, live music.
If you are interested in attending, reply or PM!
