That 'Oak' was actually the culmination of years of deliberation before I bought it. Like 25 years. It actually spends more time in the safety deposit - it gets retrieved for weddings, etc. One of my sons will inherit basically a New Old Stock condition watch. This is what gives me everyday pleasure.

hey whacked, Thanks, yes, a nice vintage watch can be all about discreet looks and relative affordabilty. What's your handle at TZ? 'PM' me if you feel like it. As to Sator ... I already needled him once about his flowery writing style.

Christ guys, it's just a bunch of retirees who saved up to buy Rolls Royces. Would you hate on them as much if they spent the money on a series of holidays or a lake house? It's not like this is the top flight of the Houston establishment ostentating or something.

Incidentally, Stetsons are not the only nor even really the most popular make of cowboy hat.
