Sevens are like all mall jeans -- overpriced and overdesigned. Buy a pair of levis for that money.

But dayum...they look fine on a ladie's caboose!

here are some jeans i picked up (considered belated christmas gift to me from wife) :

Goldsign straight leg very dark denim (i think it's raw? it is very stiff denim)
i like how this one bunches around calf

Ever? jeans , slightly looser fit

Diesel Zatiny slim boot cut jeans. i like this one , is my favorite.

There was a pair of Acne jeans for 75 dollars which was very nice but it was in like a faded grey. not sure if i would wear it often.

i know the diesel and probably the Goldsign are 'mall brands' but to be honest i love the diesel i have. and i have seen the APCs, nudies, rag and bone and all. i just like the thicker/beefier denim in the soft powder blue fade with the design on the pocket, pretty unique. and the cut on the diesel is very sleek. i'll get into the other premium stuff later , but for now i am done.

i was reading that denim blog mauro reccommended and it said that 7FAM was recently acquired by VF, the company that owns brands like wrangler and nautica. so this probably means the fits and washes will become more homogenized and more "cookie-cutter." then again, i could be wrong and they may become a staple brand. anyone else got any opinions on this??

I find the cut of Diesel to be HORRIBLE, but to each his own I suppose.

They were cookie cutter from the moment they were on the market. There is nothing original or unique about fake distressing.

Unless of course, you go with the Ezra Fitch (Abercrombie) ultra premium denim which is hand distressed and hand tooled by 8 year olds in guam. (that was sarcastic).

they're keeping the same fits and introducing more. their fits aren't bad which is the main reason they are selling so many units.

unfortunately i sell this crap part time and sat in on the seminar recently. they claim to be using some of the best mills in japan as their denim source nowadays but the quality aspect just isn't there. i see them being returned all the time because of rips and such. the bottom line is they use thin denim and wash it so much that it's prone to breaking and wears out withing weeks of wear.
