Where to stay in Paris for honeymoon? - Page 4

There's a good place in the Place des Vosges that's sort of low-key but very nice. I personally consider all the older hotels like the Ritz to be sort of idiotic at this stage of history. The Costes isn't terrible, but a sort of pretentious atmosphere. I have an apartment in Paris on the Ile Saint-Louis which has always been my favourite part of the city, and although I forget the names I know there are some hotels there. That's worth checking out, because it's really the most beautiful part of Paris- close to everything, but the complete opposite of hectic.

I agree with part of this as Mansart has served me well as a base of operations when in Paris for shopping as it close to the big brands as well as Charvet and Corthay, but I'm not sure that it would be my choice if I were going for my honeymoon. It is a good hotel, great location and you can find some decent restaurants (for example Rue du marche St. Honore is close, but it was hit-or-miss), but if he is looking for romantic...

I can't wait. We're getting the big suite that opens on the terrace to give the brat roaming space.
