i got this for someone...

http://www.ralphlauren.com/product/i...gkw=leigh&sr=1

on the RL site, it's not selling very well. why so? wear-bility? i love the look...but i'm not sure what the girl will think. can this be worn to go out?

so...i have decided to ask you all for some inputs...

also...she's a size 0. i bought size 2 because black label only makes size 2 as the smallest size for most items. i don't think it would be too big, cause the outwear goes by bust size, not waist. i'm worried about the sleeves. she's 5''3'......so....i dunno...! alterations?

hank

edit: i just realized i made the title sound gay...haha~!

If I were a girl, I'd love it...Seems a bit masculine tho...I think it'd look fantastic on the right person...

I think it looks great but, I would never buy a Woman clothes that a) were the wrong size and b) I wasn't sure she would even like it.

How do you know it's not selling?

It's a really cool looking coat. I think the reason is wasn't selling so hot was that it's more of a "fashion, edgy" style than what Ralph Lauren's female clients normally seek out. I really like it! Hopefully it fits her in the shoulders. If it fits there and it buttons over her bust-line... then alterations should be a breeze...

matters how fashion forward she is. if she doesnt have the clothing/style to pull it off it will just look off.

I've come to the conclusion that there buying clothing (other than one-size-fits-all) for a woman is a no-win situation. Buy too small a size and she'll look at it and say, "you think I'm fat" and run out of the room screaming, crying and never want to see me again; OR Buy too big a size and she'll look at it and say, "you think I'm fat" and run out of the room screaming, crying and never want to see me again.

You are perhaps overlooking lingerie as the exception (when a universally acknowledged size standard can be easily determined by rummaging through a dresser drawer)? I have had some good luck with lingerie in the past.

Good point brian. Although seeing as how the shit never stayed on very long I always thought of lingerie as a waste of money.

hahah....you make it sound like i'm asking for it~

my biggest concern is the sleeves. they're always too long for someone who's petite!

i already bought the smallest size possible, so if it doesn't fit...i can't be bothered.

Wait, so you chanced $900 on a coat, but if it doesn't fit perfectly out of the box you can't be bothered to shell out for simple alterations?

Very cool coat, on the right woman.

How can you so totally misunderstand the point of lingerie? It's not supposed to stay on long, it's supposed to

1) convince the lady she needs to model it for you (briefly) and
2) look smokin' hot while it does stay on

^ The next thing you'll be telling me is lingerie is not designed to be "tear-away" and can be worn more than once.
